Crawly skin
bkoganbing22 May 2012
There was never any continuity with The Untouchables series as the writers had to continually find new plots and villains for the crack group of Federal agents to deal with. In the last season Robert Stack and the crew were dealing with narcotics which is not anything the real group did. They'd just run out of Prohibition stories.

In this episode Stack is brought in by a Chicago police captain who says that his son has been found to be a hop head. It turns out the junk is being peddled out of a jazz club and we all know how those jazz musicians loved their narcotics.

Heading the gang are club owner Robert Emhardt and booking agent Simon Oakland. But in a small role as a low level peddler in a part that will totally creep anyone out is Robert Ellenstein. His few minutes in the episode will leave you with crawly skin.

Check this one out if it's broadcast.

Once again...Ness goes undercover!!!
planktonrules28 March 2016
One of the worst clichés during the run was having Eliot Ness going under cover and pretending to be a hood! It was pretty stupid as he'd be easily recognized by most any connected hood. They used this stupid plot device early in the series and now they're repeating it in the final season. Because the idea is so patently absurd, it makes the entire episode seem a bit dopey.

When the show begins, Ness is visiting with a police captain's son. The young man is a junkie--in jail for using heroin and you know that this drug will be the subject of this episode. Ness' investigation soon leads to a SUPER-creepy (one of the creepiest in "The Untouchables" history) junkie named 'Peepers' and Peepers soon assumes room temperature! The path then leads to a jazz musician heading to New Orleans for a gig. Ness is able to get on the train with this guy but soon the suspect is murdered and Ness gets the brilliant idea of assuming the man's identity and taking his gig! Now considering he wasn't a musician AND he was one of the more well-known crime fighters of the era, the idea did seem ludicrous! What follows is mildly interesting...but REALLY stupid. Even with the uber-creepy Peepers and Simon Oakland playing one of the baddies, it's an easy episode to skip....and your brain will thank you!!
