Warren Oates, who plays Shiloh ranch hand Corbie, appeared in the Sam Peckinpah film "Ride the High Country" along with series star James Drury. In that film, the pair portrayed two of the five Hammond Brothers who are the movie's antagonists. Each of the other three Hammonds also appeared on "The Virginian ": John Davis Chandler in 1 episode, John Anderson in several roles over the years, and L.Q. Jones in a recurring role for several seasons.
Oates and Jones were also favorite actors of director Peckinpah who cast both men in numerous films he helmed.
