When Gavin Heath is in the bar, the bartender makes reference to the Charge of the Light Brigade, a battle of the Crimean War they both were present for, by reciting a line "...rode the 600..." from the poem by Alfred, Lord Tennyson. Heath corrects him, saying "700. And 14 to be exact." Most historical accounts hold the number at 670 members of the Light Brigade, for which Tennyson most likely exercised poetic license by using 600 to keep meter to the poem.
