Randy Boone is in the title role in this Wagon Train story. He plays a young man
who has learned a useful trade, lock picking and safecracking. He's still an
apprentice and looking for some on the job experience at Harry Harvey's office
where John McIntire has just conducted business and where Harvey has $8000.00
in a safe that his friend wagonmaster Chris Hale will be taking to the next town
for deposit.
Boone's uncle Peter Whitney is looking for the money as well. However there's a young girl played by Susan Silo who's interested in marrying Boone but not if he takes up thievery as a trade.
Boone who would soon be a regular on The Virginian plays the same kind of part he did there, a confused country kid who fortunately finds the right influences in Susan Silo and a better mentor in John McIntire than Peter Whitney.
