During the final season, there were some themes that ran through the episodes...such as Tom and Diana as well as the Idiot Baines and Jane marrying...in addition to Geoffrey and Marion working out their marriage...or divorce. However, in "A Royal Visit?" these themes take a back seat and are barely mentioned. Instead, Bayview is all abuzz because some sort of royal personage is coming to visit...though who is uncertain. As you'd expect, Diana thinks the monarchy is a farce and Tom is excited to see whoever comes to visit.
This episode is thoroughly enjoyable though it also seems like a filler episode...one that really doesn't advance any of the plots that much. This is NOT a complaint...just an observation. Still it's well worth seeing.
