Diana...a glamorous granny!?!?!?!
planktonrules3 December 2023
In one of the most inexplicable plots in "Waiting for God", Harvey Idiot Baines wants Diana to enter the Glamorous Granny contest which is going to be held at Bayview. Not surprisingly, Diana is not interested nor is she exactly glamorous! However, she IS nice for a change...thanks to a bet with Tom. And, as part of her determination to act nice, she decides to help Basil and Betty...which backfires at first but she manages to pull it off by the end of the show.

It was nice to see Diana acting nice for a change...especially how it played out with Jane. Plus, the episode featured Basil...which makes it a standout by my standards. Well worth seeing.

A Glamorous Granny contest at Bayview, what could go wrong.

After Diana makes some disparaging remarks about Basil, stating that he's no better than a lizard, Tom makes a bet with her, that she can't be nice to people for a whole week, the wager £10 million.

Plenty of laughs throughout this one, very well written, expertly acted as always, Cole I just a delight.

It's worth watching it to see Diana being nice, the way she charmed Jane was hilarious, she even managed to be civil to Marion and The Idiot Baines, of course it doesn't last, it isn't long before Diana bares her fangs.

The idea of a Glamorous Granny competition was funny, a much better idea than sitting down watching The Chase.

What's wrong with my smile.....'it's like a crack in the walls of hell,' some of the one liners in this are hilarious.

8/10.

"Your smile is like a crack in the walls of hell, you can smell the sulphur and hear the screams of the dammed"

Warning: Spoilers
Diana and Tom have an argument over whether it was, remotely possible for Diana to be nice for an entire week.

They settled on an amount of £10 Million quid but could Diana ever be expected, to stand even a fighting chance of keeping her side of the bargain.

Especially considering all of the obstacles strewn in her path that commenced, with a Glamorous Granny competition organised by Natalco Foods.

That the Idiot Baines stupidly imagined that Diana Trent could enter, as the Entrant for the Bayview Retirement Village.

A great disappointment for me in this otherwise excellent, episode of one of my favourite TV comedies. Is that a large chunk of the action, is not actually shown to us the audience.

It occurred during the Glamorous Granny Competition, all we get to see is the beginning of it. The funniest elements of the occasion, are merely described to us in retrospect. Although this is still very funny, I would far rather have been able to get the chance to see this depicted on screen.
