At a camp near the Mexican border Grant Mandeville is recruiting an army to liberate Mexico. He found a young recruit Arnold Wilson who is passionate about the task and a great speaker who can attract men to the cause. In reality Grant and his second in command Gregg Haggerty are only interested in liberating gold and silver from the Mexicans. The local sheriff and Senor Rubiro, the Mexican Counsel to Arizona, visit Mandeville to ask him to not invade or the Mexican Army will attack him as an enemy. Before he leaves the sheriff reveals that the U.S. Army is on the way to stop Mandeville. Shortly afterwards a young boy leads Josh to the camp pointing out Wilson. Josh tells Wilson and Mandeville that he is taking Wilson back to his father but is knocked out by Haggerty. The boy rides off with Josh's horse and returns with the sheriff. When they awaken Josh, the camp is empty leaving Josh with the only option of heading into Mexico after Wilson. However, his task is complicated by Mexicans who are after the plundering Mandeville.
