By June, Broadway producer David Merrick's play 'Philadelphia, Here I Come!' had already premiered, and he would open another five shows until the end of the year. His last musical production of this year, 'Breakfast at Tiffany's', never officially opened and he closed it on December 14, 1966, after four previews, and a total financial loss. The original cast included Mary Tyler Moore and Richard Chamberlain.
Henry Fonda was in New York City starring in the Broadway play 'Generation' at the Morosco Theatre. The comedy ran for a total of 310 performances, and closed in the following two weeks, on June 25, 1966.
