Severely autistic schoolboy Ian Norville (12) ran away, as often, from a school museum trip, but wasn't found. His father Daniel Norville, who came along with 'normal' brother Elliot, couldn't trace him, having atypically forgotten Ian's tracing bracelet-tuned receiver. Elliot is the one best acquainted with Ian's shy hiding habits, but the team looks into the whole family, as Jack mistrusts Daniel's tardy return and public outburst at troublesome Ian, as well as his conspicuously-absent regular companion-minder Anu Singhal. Ian was at least noticed by museum employee John Sewall, new identity of sexual ex-con John Larabee.
