- Raquel Toledano expresses doubts concerning her involvement in the Eagle Feather Brotherhood, and is taken hostage by the other members as they prepare to move their stolen gunpowder. Zorro must stop them.
- Garcia recieves a letter from Capitan Toledano instructing him to send Raquel Toledano to board a ship for Spain. Raquel is upset, because she is loyal to The Eagle and believes her husband will be a great and powerful man under the Eagle's regime. Diego suspects Raquel is plotting to murder Garcia and goes to warn him. Diego asks Garcia if he has made any progress toward finding the stolen gunpowder, and convinces Garcia his life is in danger by telling his fortune with cards. Raquel meets with Quintana and other agents of the Eagle to discuss the impending attack on Los Angeles. Raquel orders them to kill Garcia so he does not interfere. Raquel tells Garcia to go meet Capitan Toledo alone on the road so the agents can follow and kill him. Garcia tries to follow her instructions, but is frightened when he remembers the fortune Diego told him and runs back to the cuartel. Garcia tells Raquel the fortune, and she believes he has figured out her involvement in the plot. Raquel tries to flee, but Quintana interrupts her. Raquel announces she no longer wishes to serve The Eagle, because she does not want to serve a tyrant and murderer. Quintana and his men kidnap Raquel, and Zorro tries to rescue her. During the struggle, they lock themselves in the cellar and cannot escape because the agents are outside the door. Zorro lights a fuse to the gunpowder, and gives the agents an ultimatum to either leave, therefore letting them escape, or all die together in the explosion. Zorro's trick works and Raquel is sent to join her husband in Spain. Quintana and the agents are arrested, and Garcia is given a medal.
