- J.R. Ewing: [JR is forcing himself on Sue Ellen after seeing her with Dusty Farlow] Why don't you pretend I'm that cowboy? That ought to make you smile!
- Sue Ellen Ewing: You disgust me!
- [calmer]
- Sue Ellen Ewing: You want a woman? Why don't you go see if my little baby sister will oblige?
- J.R. Ewing: You're right. I've wasted more than enough time on *you* already.
- [JR leaves]
- Ray Krebbs: Pretty rank-looking bulls, huh? Old Adrian Parker brought them in for us special from Fort Worth.
- Cowboy: You ride any of them broncs before?
- Ray Krebbs: [scoffs] I might've rode one of their daddies.
- Lucy Ewing: [Lucy goes up to Alan Beam after J.R. sends him away from the ranch] Well, I just wanted to say hi. Guess I'll see you around some time.
- Alan Beam: Not if your uncle has anything to say about it.
- Lucy Ewing: He doesn't.
- Kristin Shepard: Sue Ellen, you'd better be careful. You're beginning to make a spectacle of yourself.
- Sue Ellen Ewing: I think you've supplied enough dramatics for one afternoon. Nobody's going to pay any attention to me or what I do.
- Kristin Shepard: You're forgetting J.R.
- Sue Ellen Ewing: Believe me, I keep trying.
- Sue Ellen Ewing: I've got to hand it to you, Kristen. It took me eight years to figure out J.R. You managed to do it in, eh, few short months.
- Kristin Shepard: I don't think I quite understand what you're getting at.
- Sue Ellen Ewing: I was referring to my, eh, husband's little idiosyncrasy of always wanting what someone else wants - or has.
- Bobby Ewing: Digger, you're leaving if I have to throw you over my shoulder and carry you off this ranch.
- J.R. Ewing: Enjoying yourself, darling?
- Kristin Shepard: Oh, I've never seen anything like it. It's so... big. A few friends, a family rodeo, you said?
- [smiles]
- J.R. Ewing: [chuckles] Well, when my Daddy entertains, he goes all out.
- Kristin Shepard: A family trait, I gather.
- [smiles]
- J.R. Ewing: Well, that's what us Ewings are all about, honey. We do big things the big way.
- Kristin Shepard: And that's why I like them.
- J.R. Ewing: Them?
- Kristin Shepard: [smiles] You.
- J.R. Ewing: Well, see you don't forget, huh?
- Kristin Shepard: [glaring at her sister] She's doing it again.
- J.R. Ewing: What do you say?
- Kristin Shepard: Sue Ellen is beginning to annoy me.
- J.R. Ewing: Oh, what's she done now?
- Kristin Shepard: Nothing. That's just it. She keeps walking around playing superior as hell. I've had to put up with her airs and graces all my life. I'm sick of it.
- J.R. Ewing: Hold on. That's my wife you're talking about.
- J.R. Ewing: Well, hi there.
- Kristin Shepard: Hi.
- J.R. Ewing: You got everything straight? Know what you're supposed to do?
- Kristin Shepard: Mm-hmm.
- J.R. Ewing: I'm counting on you.
- Kristin Shepard: Now, J.R., have I ever disappointed you?
- J.R. Ewing: No, I can't say you have. Not yet, anyway.
