This is an interesting, beautifully shot short film about a man (Jean-Pierre Cassel)who has suffered a terrible loss and still cannot cope with it many years later. It is also a tribute to Dziga Vertov's "Man with a Movie Camera" and contains plenty of references to other classic films.
Cassel has only one line of dialogue but gives a strong performance, especially with his eyes. (Anyone who has seen "Army of Shadows" will remember those striking blue eyes of his.) His recent passing is a great loss for French, and world, cinema.
Director Nicolas Bary shows promise, and the writer looks forward to seeing him work in features.
