During an evening at The Opera, Igor bumps into an old friend, Gru, who explains that his master, The Phantom, has a dastardly plan.
I can see why this is such a highly rated episode, and obviously a bit with fans of the show. I always loved when they referenced of parodied famous shows and stories, and here of course it's the turn of The Phantom of The Opera, which back in 1989, would have been quite famous, and very much in people's minds.
Plenty of laughs and amusement here, and for once it's Igor who tries to save the day. The randomness of this episode works so well, a shame that Nanny didn't wear an evening frock for the occasion, but of course her singing plays a big part.
Definitely one of the best from series one. Great animation and voice overs as always.
9/10.
