This, for the benefit of future rock historians, is the transscript of a screenplay I wrote in the summer of 1977. It was tailored for the historic punk rock band the Sex Pistols, and was to be directed by Russ Meyer and produced by the impresario Malcolm McLaren. It still carried its original title, "Anarchy in the U.K.," although shortly after I phoned up with a suggested title change, which was accepted: "Who Killed Bambi?" I wrote about this adventure in my blog entry McLaren & Meyer & Rotten & Vicious & me. Discussions with Meyer, McLaren and Rene Daalder led to this draft. All I intend to do here is reprint it. Comments are open, but I can't discuss what I wrote, why I wrote it, or what I should or shouldn't have written. Frankly, I have no idea.

The London penal system has no idea what to do with Michael Peterson, famously on record as its most violent criminal. If the film Bronson can be believed, their solution was to beat him intensely and often. Strangely, that’s also director Nicolas Winding Refn’s answer to his subject. Bronson, so named because Peterson adopts the full name of action star Charlie, is a pseudo-biography about a real life man who entered prison as a low-level bank robber and is still there today, infamous for taking hostages and inciting riots that would make Ufc fighters cower. Refn’s film isn’t the whole truth; it might not even be half the truth, but it creates a violently swirling vortex around its central figure, played to rage-filled precision by Tom Hardy.

Moscow -- Many foreign TV channels could be taken off the packages of Russian cable operators, as they don't have proper licenses, according to the communications control agency, Roskomnadzor.
The agency has launched an inspection of local cable operators' packages to make sure that all the broadcast channels have legitimate licenses, said a Roskomnadzor spokesman. "For a long time, no one paid attention to that, but now it's about time to make order in that area," he said.
"Roskomnadzor's actions are in compliance with the law," said Marina Dozortseva, deputy general director of National Cable Networks, one of the country's largest cable TV operators. "But the legislation regarding foreign channels' broadcasting in Russia is imperfect."

Kelly Rutherford has accused her ex of disrupting the natural order of things. The Gossip Girl mom has been granted a temporary restraining order against the father of her two children, Daniel Giersch, after, among other things, accusing him of intimidating and threatening her nanny, being inflexible with his scheduled custody visits and stressing her out so much she's having a hard time breast-feeding. In a lengthy declaration filed today in Los Angeles Superior Court, Rutherford states that Giersch doesn't comply when she wants to take their 3-month-old daughter, Helena, to work with her in the morning so that she can nurse. "From time to time I have some extra milk, but I never know when...I...

It's one of the most anticipated animated features to come down the pike in a long while. It features the voices of Elijah Wood, Jennifer Connelly, Christopher Plummer, Martin Landau, John C. Reilly and Crispin Glover. And it's produced by Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov. It is 9. Directed by rookie Shane Acker, based on his Oscar-winning short of the same name, 9 opens nationwide on Sept. 9 -- yes, 9-9-09. The story unfolds in the near future. Mankind no longer exists, destroyed by machines of our own making. Instead, a group sentient puppet-like creatures try to survive, mostly by avoiding the many machines still operating in the outside world. 1 (Plummer) is the leader, 2 (Landau) is a frail inventor, 7 (Connelly) is a gutsy warrior, and so on. A newcomer named 9 (Wood) arrives on the scene and compels the group to explore the outside world, a decision which will change their lives --...
