Jo Grant and the natives have disappeared into a cave on the mountainside, and AGAIN the Doctor goes to rescue her. A ship lands nearby with the Adjudicator on board, he turns out to be a familiar foe. The Doctor tries to trade with the natives for Jo, and meets The Guardian, seemingly the head of the Primitives (no pun intended) he lets the Doctor and Jo leave but warns if they return they face death. The adjudicator rules in favour of IMC, The Adjudicator is no other then The Master. The colonists try to set up IMC and attack them. Kenny Everett discovers Norton's the traitor and a fight breaks out between Colonists and IMC.
This is such a lazily written episode, every single Pertwee element has appeared, the Venusian Karate, the little man verses big conglomerate, the captured companion, the Master, the automobiles.
There is absolutely no need for the Master to be in this story, this is his forth in a row, again it's lazy.
Why haven't the colonists rumbled Norton? it's blindingly obvious and even the Doctor has already mentioned he attempted sabotage.
The sets have gone downhill somewhat, everything now looks a little bit Blue Peter, plenty of shiny foil being used.
I did enjoy the Doctor's look at the primitives civilisation, at least its given them some identity, until now they've been devoid of any interest, apart from their telepathy. Why have they written them as being so utterly stupid.
