Exclusive: Matt Lanter (Jupiter’s Legacy) and newcomer Sophia Esperanza have joined Prime Video’s Motorheads cast in recurring roles, Deadline has learned exclusively.
From writer-showrunner John A. Norris, Motorheads is about first love, first heartbreak, and turning the key in your very first car. Set in a once-thriving rust-belt town that’s now searching for a glimmer of hope, the series is the adrenaline-filled story of a group of outsiders who form an unlikely friendship over a mutual love of automobiles. And while some characters will be navigating the hierarchy and rules of high school, others will be racing from a dark past.
The series also includes previously announced stars Ryan Phillippe, Nathalie Kelley, Michael Cimino, Melissa Collazo, Uriah Shelton, Drake Rodger, Johnna Dias-Watson, Josh Macqueen and Mia Healey.
Lanter will portray Darren, a wealthy and powerful father of 17-year-old Harris (Macqueen), who, like his dad, is a serious street racer.

10. Altered Carbon (2018–2020) Fell Flat After S1
For all the cyberpunk connoisseurs, Altered Carbon was a breath of fresh air. A phenomenal setting, compelling characters, and engaging mystery — it had it all. The hype for Season 2 was real, but halfway through, the showrunner changed… Let’s just say that very few people even finished watching the new series.
9. Heroes (2006–2010) Was Gone for Good After S1
When Heroes Season 1 premiered in 2006, it became an instant nationwide cultural phenomenon. Everyone and their grandma were talking about it non-stop, and it felt like the new TV show was there to stay. Indeed, it stayed around for three more seasons, but those were so terrible the audience decided to ignore their existence.
8. Sleepy Hollow (2013–2017) Lost Its Essence After S1
Sleepy Hollow Season 1 got all the creepy fairy tale/legend fans excited. Unfortunately, after hyping the audience up, the show changed a showrunner and went into oblivion.

Remember 2006? That was the year that High School Musical came out, and so did Lance Bass. The very first tweet was tweeted, and Miley Cyrus was just some actress on a new Disney Channel show.
In this strange and innocent time, NBC dropped a (then) totally unique pilot into its mix of programming. It was a superhero show – but one without any recognizable names, like Superman or Batman. It was an ensemble show, but it was also high-budget. And, two years before The Dark Knight declared superheroes to be serious business, it challenged the audience to really think about what it might mean if average, ordinary people developed superhuman abilities.
The show, of course, was Heroes.
What Was It About?
After an eclipse, random citizens from around the world discover that they have developed superpowers. These include people like Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg), an LAPD officer who can suddenly read...

This X-Men ’97 article contains spoilers.
Back in the ’90s, the original X-Men: The Animated Series gained a following precisely because it could translate the tangled soap-opera storylines from the comic franchise into compelling, but easily digestible chunks. X-Men ’97 continues this tradition, but for a very different audience. Where only big nerds knew about Gambit or Deadpool in the ’90s, now they’re household names.
And yet, X-Men ’97 goes even deeper, filling the screen with deep-cut Marvel characters from both the world of mutants and the cosmos. If you want to put some names and backstories to some of these faces, here’s a guide to all the cameos and major character returns in the show’s sixth episode, “Lifedeath Part 2.”

In 2015, a continuation of this beloved series titled Heroes Reborn was released 2015 but didn’t garner as much love from fans. The reboot treatment is all the rage in Hollywood at the moment. When J.J. Abrams' 2009 film "Star Trek" was first announced, it caused something of a fanboy firestorm online. "Star Trek" was largely moribund in the 2000s, presenting the franchise's least popular film, "Star Trek: Nemesis" in 2002, and its least popular series (to date) in "Star Trek: Enterprise." The former only made $67.3 million, and the latter was canceled after four seasons. The world had shifted from gentle stories of futuristic diplomacy to colorful, fantastical post-9/11 revenge fantasies.
Then along came Abrams with his declaration that he'd reboot "Star Trek" with a new cast playing younger, hotter versions of characters Trekkies have loved since the 1960s. His new "Star Trek" was to be supra-high-octane, tripling down on action and drama, and actively eschewing the morality, optimism, and cerebral elements the franchise had previously been known for. Questions immediately began to arise as to whether or not that counted as "proper Star Trek,...

Revenue and profit at Big Brother powerhouse Banijay were up more than 5% last year but the group still has a stubbornly high debt pile, the majority of which has been deferred for several years.
Banijay owner Fl Entertainment’s full-year results showed the super-indie’s revenues to have increased by 5.7% to €3.3B ($3.6B), while adjusted Ebitda rose 6.7% to €494M in what was a tricky year for TV production. ITV and ProSiebenSat.1 posted losses earlier today.
Fl Entertainment put the increases down to “proven superbrands and series renewals” along with acquisitions such as Help producer The Forge and the decision to move into new areas such as sport and live events, the latter culminating in the purchase of Balich Wonder Studio.
“In a challenging macro-economic environment, the Group content offering was particularly well adapted to serve clients’ needs, illustrating the attractiveness and proven popularity of its well-diversified and enriched portfolio,” said the Fl filing.

A lot of sci-fi films helped shape the genre into what it is today, but perhaps none of them are as underrated as the 1982 film "Tron." The original entry into a franchise that would come to span several decades was studded with soon-to-be stars like the incomparable Jeff Bridges, who would go on to earn an Academy Award.
Bridges stars in the action-adventure as Kevin Flynn, a video game developer who gets trapped inside his own software and has to interact with the programs inside his computer's main frame to escape. Digital technology was still emerging in the 1980s, and computers were relegated to those with a proclivity for science. All that is to say, the public wasn't ready for a movie filled with symbolic computer metaphors, and the film was not a success.

Exciting news from Marvel Studios as they reveal the cast for the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. The iconic superhero team will see Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, also known as Mr. Fantastic. Vanessa Kirby will bring to life Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman. The role of Johnny Storm, or the Human Torch, goes to Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach will portray Ben Grimm, better known as the Thing.
This reboot is stirring quite a buzz, especially with the announcement of a new release date. Fans can mark their calendars for July 25, 2025, when the Fantastic Four will make their grand entrance. This shift means Thunderbolts will now premiere earlier, on May 2, 2025.
The story of the Fantastic Four is a classic one. They’re astronauts turned superheroes after a cosmic ray exposure in space. Reed Richards can stretch his body incredibly, while Sue Storm, his partner, can turn invisible and create forcefields.

Dakota Johnson is a fascinatingly eccentric celebrity (and I very much mean that as a compliment), so it should come as no surprise that she's also been the most entertaining part of the marketing for "Madame Web." To some extent, the latest entry in Sony's Spider-Man Universe -- a movie that /Film's Witney Seibold describes in his review as a "clunky, earnest, and weirdly charming" oddity -- seems almost tailor-made for her. The "Fifty Shades of Grey" actor has a peculiar appeal as a public figure, from her handling of "lime-gate" to the wry, understated shade she threw at the meme birthed by the "Madame Web" trailer line, "He was in the Amazon with my mom when she was researching spiders right before she died." The line itself isn't even in the film, which only makes both the meme and Johnson's reaction to it all the more curiously amusing.
