Forgotten until 2013 when it was rediscovered among a recent donation of 35mm nitrate film to an archive in northern Virginia
this silly comedy tells the story of two gals who want to get a tour of Perfection Pictures Studios when they run into a French actress who is raising the roof over not being met at the station (seems nobody knows what this famous woman looks like?)
So these streetwise ladies switch letters of invite with the fuming Frenchy and she gets even more ignored and a quick tour by a studio guard giving her the bums rush.
Meanwhile the studio boss who has been berating his "yes" men falls all over himself when our sassy duo hand over the VIP letter of introduction.
(Funny but neither of these dames has a French accent, actually it's more like Brooklyn or even Queens where this "Hollywood" short was shot!)
Well the smart one (the blonde) coaches the dumber one (the brunette) into doing a screen test with, wait for it, a real movie star -- Barry Sullivan in only his fourth appearance (all shorts so far in his soon to be medium level career.)
And the brunette even gets to sing a song, or was it sing some jokes Well honestly folks it is an Educational Film.
Whatever it's cultural, educational or historic importance it was one of only two films starring that pair of forgettable, nearly never was actresses = Harriet Hutchins & Lola Pierce (their total filmography adds up to three titles.)
And it was Stubby Kaye's first film, so there! Look for it someday at a film festival near you and then you too can have bragging rights.
