Once Upon a Time's co-executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis confess to Et that bringing the musical episode to life from script to screen was a "really emotional" process for all involved.

‘Tis better to have loved and lost…? If that’s what you’re selling, Once Upon a Time‘s Regina probably isn’t buying, not so soon after burying another great love.
VideosOnce Upon a Time Finale Sneak Peek: Guess Who’s Coming to Granny’s?
As Lana Parrilla explains in this TVLine Q&A, with Robin Hood’s selfless sacrifice, Regina has not lost just a soul mate, she’s also hemorrhaging hope, which Snow White will be the first to tell you is critical to clutch onto. Is karma at play for the formerly Evil Queen? And for the short term at least,...

“Back to the middle and around again,” sings Crystal Waters in “100% Pure Love” — one of my favorite radio hits of the 1990s.
And yowza, do those lyrics ever apply to this week’s installment of The Good Wife — not just because the case of the week centers on copyright infringement in popular music, either.

Ever since the death of Will Gardner, the core characters of CBS’ Sunday-night drama have been doing their best impressions of hamsters on wheels — working themselves into sweaty lathers but winding up exactly where they started their journeys.

I remember playing The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition on my 3Ds back in 2011 and simultaneously texting some friends eagerly looking for a time to get together so we could tackle the game together as it was truly meant to be played. I remember even more vividly my disappointment when I saw that the game wasn’t given an online feature, despite the 3Ds being a capable machine, and thinking what a wasted opportunity it was giving fans this gift, meant to be enjoyed together, but not ensuring they have an easy opportunity to play with others. Consequently, I never got around to playing the game with my 3Ds owning friends, and was instead stuck with a dull single player experience. One certainly is the loneliest number. Since then, I have hoped against hope that Nintendo would rerelease the game with online capabilities. Whether that meant a full update with enhanced graphics,...

We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about shows including Girl Meets World, Mistresses, 24: Live Another Day, and Pretty Little Liars
1 | Does Girl Meets World‘s Cory ever teach any actual history in his class? On that note, do any of Riley’s classmates pay attention to Cory when he’s teaching? Also, wasn’t it great to see Topanga and Auggie’s dynamic?
2 | Since Salem’s Increase was always so quick to invite suspected witches to, ahem, hang with him for a spell,...

Producer Alison Owen says it is “crazy to say the internet is going to kill off movies”.Scroll down for full speech
Alison Owen, managing director of Ruby Film and Television, has used her keynote speech at the BFI London Film Festival to defend the art of movie storytelling and play down the threat of the internet.
Speaking at the Curzon Soho this afternoon, Owen said: “There’s many a Cassandra touting the death of the movie industry. But is that true?
“It is crazy to say the internet is going to kill off movies… The problem is not technology per se but the management of that technology – and the lack of a pervasive business model.”
Using YouTube clips such as “Charlie bit my finger”, Owen said such content was “incredibly simple” and that “people still want good stories”.
“As digital comes of age, there’s going to be more and more demand for content,” she said.

I don’t often offer my opinion on what a publisher should or should not do with their lineup of titles—that’s business, not storytelling. But when something like DC’s Dial H gets canceled, likely in favor of another ordinary superhero book, I feel the need to say something. Numbers are numbers, of course, and often speak louder than storytelling, but the fact is that Dial H #13 is a veritable masterpiece, able to be read by just about anyone regardless of their familiarity with the series, and a perfect example of science fiction weirdness brought to its emotional best. Its impending cancelation is embarrassing.

In last night's America's Got Talent two hour Vegas Week finale, it was the standbys turn to compete for the remaining New York slots.
Hawley Magic opened up the magician category with a levitation routine that Howard Stern pointed out might have been more interesting if the duo had done something to prove to the audience that they weren't simply dangling from wires. It was a good point. I totally assumed they were using wires.
Mind reader Giani lost some of the magic when he misheard Sharon Osbourne during his act. He asked her to name a city. She said "Milan" and he heard "Bilan," which Sharon helpfully pointed out isn't a real city after his big reveal. Oops.
I think the real gem in the standby magician group was Jarrett and Raja, who improved so much after their lukewarm audition-- remember the awkward chainsaw/piano routine? Yeah. I'll take...

Alcatraz: Sarah Jones Talks Buried Secrets and What's in Store for the Season
Alcatraz isn't even halfway through its first season, but the mysteries are already piling up. More specifically, how did the prisoners disappear in 1963 and reappear in present day San Francisco? Why is Rebecca's grandfather, Tommy Madsen, so important to what happened back at the prison? And how was Luci alive back in 1963 and then also appearing in present day without aging?
Sarah Jones took some time to talk with us about what's going to happen with Rebecca's family connections to the prison, how the '63s will continue to be the central mystery for the show, and whether Hauser will open up to Rebecca.
Rebecca's Family Drama. The Madsen family has been an important part of Alcatraz since the pilot, when Rebecca learned that her grandfather, Tommy, was a prisoner at Alcatraz and...

All cinema is artifice. This isn’t a groundbreaking epiphany or statement, but the success of most movies hinges on the audience not taking that statement into account. But it’s true: all cinema is artifice of one kind or another. Even documentaries have some artificiality, because no matter how blisteringly true something from, say, Errol Morris is, he’s still shaped the raw footage he collected into a movie. Fictional films are far more artificial, depending on the content and presentation. Sometimes, if the director is shrewd enough, they can manipulate the audience in such a way that they’ve completely forgotten that they’re sitting in a darkened movie theater, so they believe they’re part of the movie they’re watching.
Robert Zemeckis used to be such a director. There was a time–back when he made movies with real people, not animation–when his movies felt...

What all 51 (remember DC? I was kind of hoping it was Puerto Rico instead) 2011 Miss USA candidates had to say about whether evolution should be taught in public schools is almost unbelievable. I never thought so many gorgeous women could become so appallingly unattractive so quickly. Didn't we solve this shit in, like, 1926?
When I watch this video of all 51 Miss USA 2011 competitors answering the question, "Should Evolution Be Taught In Schools?"
This is all I hear:
Madeline Mitchell (Miss Alabama) begins the video with saying, "No, I do not believe in evolution, I do not think it should be taught in schools," to which I am aghast. But then the video goes on to get so much worse. So. Much. Worse.

Vertigo's "A Flight Of Angels" hard cover graphic novel, available November 2, 2011, is written by Holly Black, Bill Willingham, Alisa Kwitney, Louise Hawkes and T. D. Mitchell, conceived and illustrated by Rebecca Guay ("Magic: The Gathering") :
"...Guardians. Messengers. Warriors. Fallen. All these angelic aspects and more are explored in 'A Flight Of Angels', a riveting tale in the tradition of 'The Decameron' and 'The Canterbury Tales'.
"A mysterious 'angel' plummets to Earth and lands deep in a dark forest, where his dying body is found by the mystical denizens of this strange place. As the gathered 'fauns', 'fairies', 'hags' and 'hobgoblins' debate what to do with him, each tells a different story of who they imagine this celestial creature to be: a hero, a lover, a protector or a killer. Once the stories have been told, a verdict is rendered – and the outcome will leave you breathless.

When theatres change artistic leaders, actors sometimes feel the ground beneath them is a bit shaky. If the new artistic directors are from elsewhere, actors who have been fixtures on the local scene for years find they need to make themselves known. On the other hand, if an actor has been struggling fruitlessly to get a foot in the door of a particular theatre, new leadership could mean new opportunities. In the San Francisco Bay Area over the past two years, five major regional theatres, plus several small but important companies, have undergone staff changes. At San Jose Repertory Theatre, Rick Lombardo recently took over for Timothy Near, who left to pursue other projects; she'd run the 28-year-old company for two decades and essentially put it on the map. Lombardo has been the artistic director of Boston's New Repertory Theatre for the past 12 years. Similarly, longtime Marin Theatre Company artistic director Lee Sankowich — who,...
