I've always really liked 'The Launching' because of its sinister edge. For all of Spectrum's well-oiled security procedures, they're still susceptible to a Mysteron scheme. President Roberts is not only a man bt also an ocean liner, and it all really comes down to a last-minute discovery by Scarlet (as heroic as ever in this episode). They win, but only by an inch. I just find that fascinating; that the war's not cut-and-dried as winning or losing, but that fate steps in at the last moment, or they just plain get lucky. And the threat this week is given a boost of realism; there's a crowd and pandemonium ensues (more often than not a skirmish with the Mysterons happens away from the public).

Great episode.

8/10.
