- June isn't sure if Beaver trading his sweater away or if a subsequent trade of getting a pet rat named Peter Gunn is worse. He definitely has to get the sweater back. Despite Ward not minding the rat, he tells Beaver to get rid of Peter Gunn, but, thinking back to the initial sweater trade, to be mindful of getting the better end of the deal in the trade. So Beaver thinks he will make Ward proud as he only paid 50-cents for Peter Gunn, while selling him for $3 to Violet Rutherford. But the Rutherford parents are as against Violet having a rat as the Cleaver adults were, especially paying $3 for one. So Fred decides to have a diplomatic talk to Ward about Beaver swindling Violet out of her money. Before Ward even tells him the nature of his and Fred's conversation, Beaver agrees to give Violet her $3 back. That leaves the fate of Peter Gunn back in Beaver's hands. June still has an issue with Beaver keeping Peter Gunn, but another mother may come to June's rescue in a way she couldn't even have imagined.—Huggo
