My favourite Thunderbirds story. Set near the year 2065 we see the pirate radio stations of the 1960's being extrapolated to pirate TV stations in space! The story starts with a blast off of TelSat which malfunctions and has to be detonated. A place of detonation is decided away from other satellites but the pirate TV satellite orbit is not mapped and bears the full force of the explosion. Can Thunderbirds rescue Rick O'Shea and Lohman from their sub-orbital descent without parachutes?
The story plays on emotions. Alan resents Tin-Tin's infatuation with Rick O'Shea and at the end everyone wonders how O'Shea got a black eye, very funny. The last 20 minutes of the story are exciting as two forms of rescue are planned with Thunderbird 3 and 2.
Great sound effects give it a sort of spooky tone, well geared towards outer space.
My only criticisms are for about 10 minutes the story drags slightly. Also you would think that Thunderbird 5 during maintenance would have a backup system operational.
I remember on the BBC 1991 repeats, waiting for it to be shown again. At the time I didn't know it was one of the last produced and had to wait an agonising 8 months for it to be shown.
