A good Monkey Punch Anime
emasterslake6 August 2006
This was released the same year as "Lupin the 3rd: Operation:Return the Treasure!" But unlike Lupin the 3rd. Cinderella Boy takes place in the future and is about 2 detectives working their own agency in the fictional city of Kirin Town.

Ranma is a well mannered detective. He enjoys collecting old fashion car models and retro stuff. Ranma sometimes acts foolish and tries to act brave. He can't drink, has no ability with computers, and is afraid of heights.

Rella is an out going detective. She enjoys bathes and fashion. Unlike Ranma, she's more into adventure and exciting detective work. She's rich, lives with her housekeeper Dorothy(who provides some gadgets for her), and great with computers.

These 2 different detectives make an unusual team. But after a car accident their whole lives change. At first Ranma thinks his partner is dead, but he soon discovers something strange when midnight occurs. That when he disappears and Rella appears. They unexplainable share the body and switch places every 24 hours.

Eventually they both learn what became of each other and soon learn to deal with it by continuing their detective agency. But it's a real problem sometimes. Because when you share the same body anything you eat is the same thing the other person ate. If you get hurt, same thing happens to the other person. If you die then so will the other person.

throughout the series Ranma and Rella will meet unusual people and some bizarre cases. They won't learn who was responsible for this whole mess till later in the series.

Cinderella Boy has the similar look you'd find in lupin the 3rd. The action, comedy, and characters are very Lupin like. It's not available in English yet. Course there's only 13 episodes. So it wouldn't take long to dubbed and release the whole series.

It's pretty good to check out. it could of ran for another season or 2. But least it doesn't end with a cliffhanger.
