I agree with another reviewer, only to the extent that this episode is too much about Steve and Carl. It should have been more about Steve and Laura. There are some nice moments, however. Laura gives Steve a big hug, after he saves Carl's life. Laura gets varnish on her blouse, and Steve even offers to help her change her clothes! Laura says: "I'm not that grateful." Interesting, considering that, in the preceding episode, she let Steve get into the same bed with her! I love it! I also love the ending, where Laura gives Steve a big kiss on the cheek! I loved everything that was Steve and Laura. The show, in general, should have focused more on their relationship.

In this episode we have basically (and rarely) one storyline: Carl bans Steve from his home, but ends up having his life save by him. I thought this was a very dull episode, I can't put my finger on it, the whole "Steve I don't wanna see you again in my life" just doesn't have any effect anymore, after being done 30 times at least in 4 seasons, and because of that the whole "saving Carl's life" doesn't have that much effect either. I also found it particulary weird the way everybody felt that they had to treat Steve nice, because it was done in a way that made it seem like they really didn't like Steve, when the whole joke is that they find him annoying but they actually like him a lot, but in this episode (irony) is the one that made me feel they didn't really like him a lot, the episode was dull as hell in terms of comedy, it seemed like it was going the serious route, but it didn't stick with that but it didn't have any humor, below average. 4/10 **** Peter Shelby

Carl gets really mad at Steve when he messes up his garage and doesn't want to see him anymore. Then he refuses to listen to Steve and gets hit by electrical shock. Steve ends up giving him CPR and save Carl's life. After this Carl is very thankful and happy about it and they have a nice conversation at the end
This episode is pretty sweet. It is nice to see Carl and Steve's relationship improving and I really love both characters so its nice to see them get along.
The problem is though that this episode is really not funny at all...And there has to be comedy in a sitcom.

It's a bit disappointing and unrealistic that after all that Steve and Carl have been through together, Carl would still be passing judgments like this on Steve. Either keep him out or learn to live with him. It's really just an excuse for the writers to put another gag with Steve breaking everything in sight again.
Sad to see they couldn't come up with some character development between these two after all these seasons. Maybe have Carl be faster to stop Steve from messing something up, but to no avail when he gets distracted?
