Quotes

  • Bobby Ewing : [finds Holly lounging by the pool = skilfully lying in wait for him]  This isn't exactly what I expected.

    Holly Harwood : Hi!

[every bit slinky as she gets up]

Bobby Ewing : I guess if you had an emergency, it's all over, or what?

Holly Harwood : [as she walks along with him]  Well, I never said there was an emergency. I said that I have some information that could be vital to you.

Bobby Ewing : [sighs]  Well, all right. What information do you have?

Holly Harwood : Why don't you come over and sit down? Let me fix you a drink.

Bobby Ewing : No, thank you, I'm fine.

Holly Harwood : You must be burning up. Why don't you take off that coat and tie?

Bobby Ewing : Look, Holly, did you call me over here to tell me something or not?

Holly Harwood : Yeah, but there's no reason for you to be uncomfortable.

    [starts loosening Bobby's tie]

    Bobby Ewing : I'm not.

    [stops her]

    Bobby Ewing : I'm fine.

Holly Harwood : [with a sigh]  Damn, I'm not gonna get anywhere with you, am I?

    [sits down]

Holly Harwood : And I'm very attracted to you. Ever since that first meeting at the Cattlemen's Club.

Bobby Ewing : [shakes his head]  Holly, don't.

Holly Harwood : You didn't even remember who I was the second time we met.

Bobby Ewing : I do know that you are in partnership with J.R. And I know that he's got twenty-five percent of your company. Now did you bring me out here for some kind of romantic romp? Is it something that he set up for me, or what?

Holly Harwood : [sighs]  I'm sorry. I'm making all the wrong moves, aren't I? I should have realized that with your reputation for honesty, you're probably a faithful husband too.

    [smiles]

Bobby Ewing : Is there something wrong with that?

Holly Harwood : No. It's exactly what I'd like to have.

    [smiles]

Holly Harwood : Only it's taken.

Bobby Ewing : [smiles, sits down next to her, sighs]  Can we talk business?

Holly Harwood : [nods]  Your brother's a smart oilman.

    [he acknowledges that]

Holly Harwood : Probably one of the smartest. But I can't trust him anymore.

Bobby Ewing : That's your problem, Holly, you're gonna have to deal with it.

Holly Harwood : Yeah, but I might be able to get out of it. My lawyers tell me that I might have a case.

Bobby Ewing : Why, what happened?

Holly Harwood : I got suspicious. It took some of the best lawyers in the county quite a while to figure out that J.R. had set up a dummy corporation... called Petro State.

Bobby Ewing : Petro State? What's he doing with it?

Holly Harwood : Well, I don't know the whole story, but... he convinced me to sell off certain Harwood Oil holdings to Petro State.

Bobby Ewing : What did you sell him?

    Holly Harwood : Gas stations.

Bobby Ewing : [incredulously]  Gas stations? What's he doing with gas stations?

  • Bobby Ewing : I might just beat J.R., with or without his variance!

Pamela Barnes Ewing : Bobby, you know I'm behind you, no matter what... but I'm starting to be frightened by what this might turn into.

  • Bobby Ewing : Pam, I think I may lose.

Pamela Barnes Ewing : Well, that's not what you said to J.R.

Bobby Ewing : I know, but he's come up with the perfect formula for winning: He pumps a lot of oil. He turns it over fast in his own gas stations. He doesn't show much profit per barrel, but he makes up for it in volume. Honey, at the end of the year, his half of the company is going to show enormous revenues.

Pamela Barnes Ewing : But the Energy Commission ruled against him.

Bobby Ewing : Well, they'll have to overturn their ruling. I mean, how can they come out against low prices?
