  [He yelps as he realizes his coat is being burned by the radiator behind him] 

• Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : Jigen, are you just going to let Lupin die?

  [He pounds his desk] 

  Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : I don't care who! Someone just do something! Anything is fine! This isn't right!

• Officer : Inspector, it sounds like you actually want Lupin to escape.

  Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : What? Don't be stupid. I'm just saying we should stay sharp.

  [He sits down and scowls, then lets out a sigh] 

• Arsène Lupin III : Inspector, at last you get your wish for Lupin to face poison gas.

  Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : What?

  [Lupin shifts his gaze back and forth and tries to hide his face] 

  Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : You tricked me, Lupin.

  [He cocks his gun] 

  Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : We have an electric chair here, not a gas chamber. If you were one of us, you'd have known that. Too bad, Lupin. You were so close.

  [Lupin laughs triumphantly] 

  Arsène Lupin III : [grinning smugly]  If that's the case, who's sitting in the electric chair right now?

  Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : What?

  [the realization dawns on Zenigata that an innocent guard is being executed. He backs away, horrified, and runs down the hall] 

  Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : Stop the execution!

• Doctor : That man is something else.

  Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : Well, he won't be for much longer. After all, he's going be executed.

  [He imagines himself at Lupin's trial] 

  Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : Death penalty! Death is the only suitable sentence for Lupin the Third! I devoted my entire life to capturing Lupin! I came into being solely so I could arrest him! He should be executed! Death penalty! Death!

  [Next he imagines Lupin being executed in various ways] 

  Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : The verdict: I sentence Lupin the Third to death!

  [He imagines Lupin crying pitifully at his trial. In his office, Zenigata sweats and anxiously buries his face in his hands as he wonders if this is what he really wants] 

• Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : I guess this is goodbye.

  Officer : Huh?

  Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : [hurriedly]  I mean, this world will finally be peaceful.

• Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : Listen, never take your eyes off him or his cell until his execution date. The guy has the ability to escape even if we give him a minute. Be extra careful.

• Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : [in thought]  Today is your last day.
