- Katherine Wentworth: Pam is moving in the right direction. She seems more unsure of herself than ever. In fact, I get the impression from what she said... that if Bobby would just leave her alone for a while, she'd see the divorce through to the end.
- J.R. Ewing: Well... that little talk she and I had is bearing fruit.
- Katherine Wentworth: You saw her?
- J.R. Ewing: Yes, we had a chat. I think I convinced her that the single life is much more attractive than marriage. Especially since I would do everything in my power to make that marriage unbearable.
- Katherine Wentworth: Good.
- [sits down]
- Katherine Wentworth: Now if we can just convince Bobby that she'd be better off without him, we could wrap this whole thing up. The problem is... he doesn't wanna let her go.
- J.R. Ewing: Well, in that case, my dear, you are not doing your job. Now, the last time we talked, I said that I would take care of Pam, and you would work on Bobby. What are you waiting for?
- Katherine Wentworth: [shrugs, sighs] Well, I didn't know quite how to handle it... but I've got an idea now.
- J.R. Ewing: Oh, I'm sure you'll do it brilliantly. Just don't waste too much time.
- Katherine Wentworth: Okay, I'll just have to work out the details. You know, I'm curious about something. I know my reasons for wanting to keep Pam and Bobby apart. But what I really don't understand are yours.
- J.R. Ewing: Well, I have a very special feeling for your sister. I hate her. She's been a thorn in my side ever since she married into my family... and I want her as far away as possible from anybody named Ewing.
- Katherine Wentworth: Well, I can understand that when you and Bobby were fighting over Ewing Oil... but practically speaking there's not much Pam can do to hurt you now, is there? I mean, there is a truce between you and Bobby,
- [she leans forward:]
- Katherine Wentworth: Isn't there? You have called off the fight for Ewing Oil, haven't you?
- J.R. Ewing: Bobby has, that's for sure.
- Katherine Wentworth: And you?
- J.R. Ewing: Well, we shook hands on it. I gave him my word.
- [big evil grin]
- Sue Ellen Ewing: And if you were to make Bobby leave you, someday he'd hate you... for making him give it all up to J.R.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Sue Ellen, maybe everything you say is true. But what do I do about the fact that I still love Bobby?
- Sue Ellen Ewing: Sometimes love just isn't enough, Pam. I'm living proof of that.
