Roger finally explodes in all his Gothic anger.

Warning: Spoilers
In previous reviews of Roger focused "Dark Shadows" episodes, I remarked that Louis Edmonds reminded me of Vincent Price in some of those Edgar Allan Poe adoptions that he did in the early 1960's at American International. It's only a few years later, and if anybody deserves the title of the Vincent Price of daytime, it's Edmonds as Roger. Many of those films dealt with a brooding noblemen being faced with secrets of the past that threatened his honor and the violent methods he went to I don't know in order to protect that honor. Here, Rodger pulls a gun on Laura and Burke and while it's obvious that nobody is going to be shot, Roger made his point especially when he blurts out some very blunt possibilities at his estranged wife.

No sooner has this scene taken place, then David is awakened by the voice of Laura calling to him and his being comforted first by Victoria then yelled at by his "father". Laura spend some time with Victoria, inquiring about David, and not really saving emotional over David's rejection of her. The fact that Victoria isn't suspicious when Laura asks for a lock of David's hair is questionable, as for a baby it does seem logical, but not for a growing boy. Unknowingly, Victoria sets up David to meet Laura, putting him in obvious danger.

When Victoria agrees to take David to meet Laura at Widows Hill, you get to see the waves of the ocean coming in without the "Dark Shadows" titles over it, and when Laura shows up, David gets too close to the cliff, risking falling over as the shock of being so close to home he believes is not his mother occurs. This really is an intriguing episode with Edmonds, Henesy and Millay giving outstanding performances with some great writing to aide them.

Pretty entertaining

Warning: Spoilers
Episode 139 consists of two halves, both of which are fairly watchable. The first offers the hilarious sight of Roger flying off the deep end when he discovers Burke with Laura. We've never seen him this crazy before and it's great fun. The second involves another meeting between David and Laura, with an unexpected outcome.
