"Laura Collins is a fraud!"
mark.waltz16 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Every time that Mrs. Sarah Johnson shows up, there's always delicious intrigue presented simply because she always seems to be creeping around like Mrs. Danvers from "Rebecca", knowing everything that goes on, even though she's basically a newcomer to Collinswood. Visiting Burke, she warns him that Laura is simply using him to achieve a mysterious goal, and this sets up a plot from them against Laura in addition to their scheming against Roger. Against the wishes of the Collins family, David visits his mother and she gives him the gift of a music box, obviously the set-up for another sinister twist.

Laura's smile reveals all that, and later on, Elizabeth catches David with the music box which results in an angry scene between them (from David's perspective) that indicates how much she cares about him and worries about what Laura is up to. Unable to resist Laura, Burke goes to see them, causing them to be caught by Elizabeth. The tension building up between Laura and Elizabeth is as fiery as the storm brewing outside, and threats are as heated as the lightening. The perfect blend of tension and romance really works in making this stunningly creepy with Elizabeth getting more than she bargained for in a stunning finale.

Now it gets interesting

Warning: Spoilers
Episode 155 is pretty decent in that it's full of drama. The focus is very much on Laura by now, or at least the woman masquerading as Laura, and her psychic powers come to the fore during her confrontation with Elizabeth. It's slow and talky but eerie with it, and that's all for the good.
