[Ricky is on his way out with a football, and Harriet asks him where he's going]
Ozzie Nelson: Harriet, I wish you wouldn't pump the boy like that.
Harriet Nelson: [sounding slightly defensive] I'm not pumping him. I just want to know where he's going and who he's going with.
Ricky Nelson: Don't worry about me, Mom. I'm very resourceful.
Harriet Nelson: Well, I hope so.
Ozzie Nelson: Of course he is.
Ricky Nelson: Thanks, Pop.
[he leaves the room, then a few seconds later, comes back in]
Ricky Nelson: Pop?... What does 'resourceful' mean?
Ozzie Nelson: [chuckling] Why don't you look it up in the dictionary if you don't know what it means?
Ricky Nelson: That's OK, I think I know what it means, anyway.
[he starts to leave the room again]
Ozzie Nelson: Hey, wait a minute, wait a minute. OK, what does it mean?
Ricky Nelson: Come to think of it, I guess I don't know what it means.
Ozzie Nelson: Why don't you look it up?
Ricky Nelson: I guess I'm just too lazy.
Ozzie Nelson: [bemused] Well, that's a good answer.
Ricky Nelson: [leaving the room again, this time for good] I may not be resourceful, but I'm lazy and I'm honest. For me that's somethin'.
