With "All That Glitters Isn't Smurf" being the first episode Farmer Smurf appears in, he has a very different voice compared to the rest of the series. He sounds similar to Poet Smurf with a Southern drawl, likely meaning that he was voiced by Frank Welker.
In "All That Glitters Isn't Smurf", Gargamel deduces that ten Smurfs would be needed to complete his gold-making formula. However, in the episodes following this one, it is established that he would need six Smurfs. In the comic book story "The Smurfnapper", all Gargamel needed for the formula was a single Smurf.
"Dreamy's Nightmare" is based on the original comic book story "The Smurf Not Like the Others" (which is also called "Traveling Smurf"), in which Smurfette does not appear.
"Dreamy's Nightmare" is based on the 1969 comic book story titled "Un Schtroumpf pas comme les autres" ("A Smurf Like No Other" in English) and released in an album the same year. Unlike the cartoon version, in the original comic story, it was an un-named Smurf who desires to travel around the world, not Dreamy.
"All That Glitters Isn't Smurf" is based upon a quote from William Shakespeare's play "The Merchant of Venice" (Act II, Scene VII): "All that glisters is not gold."
