A Different Kind Of Assignment
ccthemovieman-14 October 2007
This episode was different from the norm, not as intense but still very interesting. Instead of a military operation with bullets flying here and there, "Snake Doctor" and the team are sent to North Carolina to get an ailing African dictator out of hospital and back to his country. It's a tough assignment because the area is being hit with a hurricane, and the patient is not a good man.

How the team can get him, his bodyguards and then - surprise - a bunch of sick folks left behind - all out of there in a helicopter under severe weather conditions, is the predicament.

The secondary story back at the base involves a couple of silly minor things, not up to snuff and not even worth discussing.

I had no problem, however, with this episode and enjoyed the different kind of challenge that confronted the guys.

The Unit goes into a hurricane to retrieve an African General from a hospital. Once at there, the mission takes on a little more than they bargained for.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was geared as the Unit's most important mission. While it may be, it did not meet those expectations in my case. Being prior military, I know that when you are sent on a mission, nothing (short of violating laws) should come between the soldier and their mission. In this episode, most of The Unit teeters on the decision of whether to discard their mission to save others not involved in the mission. For most of their mission they seem to be on track and then when they find the other 8 people stranded in the hospital, they have an added complication they had not planned on -- too many people for the helicopter to get out of the storm. When the General (who was a dictator who killed many of his own people before being rescued by the US Government) rejects the liver, it is questioned whether he will live, so the members of The Unit start to question their mission.
