Scary episode uses extensive, real-life footage of sharks in their natural habitat(the ocean) as it relays several encounters divers have had with the creatures, which have oddly remained unchanged since prehistoric times, making them a perfect predator. First-hand accounts of shark attacks are effective, and(as host Leonard Nimoy points out) contains graphic scenes of actual wounds and attack aftermath that are not for the squeamish, though it isn't done for cheap shock value, but to illustrate a basic truth: that these creatures are no joke, and only a fool would take them lightly. A follow-up(of sorts) to earlier episode 'The Shark Worshippers'.

In Search Of... "Immortal Sharks" (1979)

When watching this very good episode from season four people should obviously remember that this was made well before Shark Week. A lot of the stuff discussed here is rather old news since we have been updated more on sharks and their behavior. The Great White shark is the subject here as the episode asks whether or not they are immortal and if they are, what does that mean when it comes to their massive sizes? If you're a fan of sharks or of the series then you'll enjoy this episode as there's some wonderful underground footage of the Great White as well as some very good stories about them. As I said, there's some information here that is now considered wrong but you can't blame the episode since it was just reporting what people thought back then.
