Quite similar in some ways to preceding episode, this one takes a slightly different approach, as it profiles how some people plan to potentially prolong their life span by decades, by either taking better care of themselves(improved diet, health spas and the techniques they use for example) or noted scientists attempts to uncover just how long a person can live, given such factors as good genetics, environment, and sheer determination. Good fortune of course can play a huge role, since no one gets to choose their DNA, though avoiding cancer and other diseases can reduce the risks that can certainly play such a crucial part in survival.

In Search Of... "Immortality" (1978)

The title pretty much tells you everything you need to know about this episode of the series. This actually turned out to be one of the better episodes as it takes a medical look at what doctors are doing to try and help people live longer. We learn about various treatments that are being done on animals and how they are living longer and what that means for humans. We also hear about how some people are selecting to have their remains frozen in hopes that in the future they can be brought back to life. For the most part this is a pretty fascinating episode that manages to give you quite a bit of interesting ideas about what the future could hold. Of course, watching this decades after it was released you now know that nothing discussed here has happened yet but that doesn't take away from the fun.
