As Dreams Are Made On (2004) has screened at a number of international festivals, including the Melbourne, Rhode Island, New Zealand and Drifting Clouds International Film Festivals.
Gabriel Reid was inspired to undertake this project after researching his M.A. thesis, in which he examined film adaptations of works by William Shakespeare. Research interviewees included John Barton, Hugh Cruttwell, Adrian Noble, Trevor Nunn, David Parfitt and Imogen Stubbs.
The film's title is drawn from lines uttered by the magician Prospero in William Shakespeare's play 'The Tempest', "We are such stuff
as dreams are made on, and our little life is rounded with a sleep".
