So what's in those Mexican maracas that's so valuable. Shake them and they still sound like gravel in a can. Whatever the answer, Blackie's got to find out before crook Latzo (Penn) gets him killed. Plus, Latzo's got that great 50's thug Richard Reeves working for him, so Blackie's in real trouble. Catch the way LA's beloved Angel's Flight is worked into the action. Happily, the uphill tram is still in operation and still makes a great film prop. Of course, if a Mexican girl's in a 50's production, she's got to be a spitfire. But here it's an actress with a Scandinavian name, Bakken, and from Minnesota, no less. Still, whatever her pedigree, she makes a convincing tigress. All in all, it's the usual entertaining series mix. But whatever you do, don't ask Mary to get her purse.
(In passing—Leo Penn who plays the chief bad guy is also Sean Penn's dad.)
