Donald and his fellow Newsview reporter Jerry Bauman are in search of a new secretary when their current secretary quits to have a baby. When Judy hears the news, she thinks she knows the perfect replacement: an unemployed Ann, who would love the job and the associated money. Donald thinks it's a terrible idea, even after he and Ann decide that they would keep their professional and personal lives separate. Not wanting to tell Ann no, Donald leaves the decision to Jerry, who he figures will say no on his behalf. Jerry throws Donald for a loop when he agrees to give Ann a try. Beyond a few personal boundary issues, Ann ends up being an efficient secretary. Regardless, having Ann around the office makes Donald a complete mess, he who can't be himself or get any work done. Can Ann and Donald's relationship in any form withstand the tension at the office?
