According to the main sources, Libanios and Ammianus Marcellinus, Julian was wounded by a spear, not an arrow.
The words attributed to the wounded Julian, "You've won, Galilean!" were invented by the ecclesiastical writer Bishop Theodoretos of Cyrrhus, a century after his death. However, the script has used them because they had become established as part of the Christian mythology around the event.
