"I know you think that you have a handle on what this is gonna be: guns and tits and all that mindless shit that I usually enjoy. You have no idea." When Logan, a handsome, sleazy young veteran of multiple trips to Westworld, says this to his milquetoast first-timer companion William, he's ostensibly referring to misconceptions about the park. But for all his subsequent blather about the place helping you find "who you really are," who Logan really is turns out to be a guy who enjoys, well, guns and tits and mindless shit.

Last Week’S Review: ‘Westworld’ Review: Season Premiere Offers Violent Delights and Asks Many Questions
Diagnostic Report
After getting to know our hosts last week, it’s time to learn a bit more about what it’s like to be a guest. Through the eyes of newcomer William (Jimmi Simpson) and his more boorish friend Logan (Ben Barnes), we go through the orientation process — or lack thereof — and also gain new insight into how guests get drawn into Westworld’s many ongoing narratives.
Those narratives, as designed by resident sociopathic Sizemore, might be starting to unravel on a host-by-host basis, with Dolores remembering more than she should and Maeve nearly getting decommissioned for her malfunctions. Bernard suspects sabotage, and we learn that he’s been secretly meeting with two different women. His reasons for hooking up with Theresa (Sidse Babett Knudsen) are pretty obvious, but what’s less clear is...

Late in the second episode of HBO's Westworld, set in a theme park where visitors act out Wild West fantasies with the help of lifelike robots, the park's visionary co-founder Dr. Robert Ford (Anthony Hopkins) dresses down Lee Sizemore (Simon Quarterman), a screenwriter who has planned a new storyline for the guests that leans heavily on blood and guts to dazzle them. The guests, an irritated Ford explains, don't return for the graphic violence, or any of the other obvious things the park's creative team shows them. Instead, he insists, "They come back because of the subtleties, the details. They come back because they discover something they imagine no one had ever noticed before — something they've fallen in love with. They're not looking for a story that tells them who they are. They already know who they are. They're here because they want a glimpse of who they could be.

Just one week after Prince Harry opened up to People about the inspiration behind his Invictus Games, the royal joined forces with First Lady Michelle Obama and revealed some behind-the-scenes moments from the first family's recent meeting with the British royals - including a bathrobe-clad Prince George. Hour Of The Wolf is a surrealist horror that gets under the skin. And it's not alone...
There are some terrible images that have been placed in my head over the years by films. They come back to haunt me, and are unforgettable.
The unique jolt of seeing something so strange, so horrifying, on the screen that it cannot be forgotten is a powerful experience, and lasts far beyond the roll of the credits. One that contains more than a few images that have retained their ability to upset and unbalance me since first seeing them is a film that was made by a director who is often thought of as a maker of psychological dramas rather than horror films. I'm talking about Ingmar Bergman's 1968 film, the disturbing and weird Hour Of The Wolf.

Andrzej Żuławski. Photo by Isabelle Vautier. How does one translate into film the books by Witold Gombrowicz, who ranks among the greatest modernists of the 20th century? Few have actually dared. Whereas Peter Lilienthal’s adaptation for television of Pornografia (Die Sonne angreifen, 1971) has been all but consigned to oblivion, the famed Polish director Jerzy Skolimowski went on a 17-year hiatus following his failed adaptation of Ferdydurke (30 Door Key, 1991). However, the opposite holds true for Andrzej Żuławski, who came out of a 15-year pause to adapt for the screen Gombrowicz’s fourth novel Cosmos (1965), also his last and most complex. Unfortunately, it became a farewell work for Żuławski as well. What kind of cosmos is it? First and foremost, it’s the bizarre microcosm of a boarding house where the young writer Witold (Jonathan Genet) arrives with his friend Fuchs (Johan Libéreau) in tow to finish his novel The Haunted.

The Big Reunion is on tour again, but this time it's a lads only affair, with 5ive, Blue, 911, Damage, 5th Story, 3T and A1 heading to an arena near you in October.
Digital Spy got on the phone with 5ive's Sean Conlon and Scott Robinson, and Anthony Costa, Simon Webbe and Lee Ryan of Blue, and quizzed them all about it.
"On the first tour there was a little bit of healthy competition, a little bit of banter. Who's going to play where... who's going to open, who's going to close," Conlon said when asked if there had been a running order squabble fest.
"But we never expected to play arenas again, so this is just a bonus really. I think nobody's bothered anymore, we just want to get on tour, have some fun and just have a great laugh.
"Blue are a little bit later, but we're all bands from the '90s.

Since The Authority has made themselves known in WWE over the last few months, many have found the product hard to watch. For a while there was solace in the development of Nxt as a micro-universe inside the overall WWE corporate struct. But more and more, there seems to be crossover in the last few weeks. With the mention of Xavier Woods and the addition of Jbl as the interim general manager of the show, no place is safe from the Authority. Let’s talk about it, beginning with this week’s Main Event.
Main Event comes to you from Birmingham, Alabama this week. The Miz and Josh Matthews are on commentary for this episode. Matthews with his shoulder in a sling is selling the attack by all Alberto del Rio last Friday on Smackdown. Apparently he didn’t care of the unsafe work environment that he complained about after the incident.

Abbie and Ichabod take on Ye Olde Freddie Krueger in this week’s Sleepy Hollow, and it’s derivative and pretty ridiculous, yet somehow incredibly watchable. The producers of next year’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 talk about the challenges of shooting in New York, villains, and much more...
It’s common to hear Hollywood movie producers talking about how their expensive sequel is bigger, louder and better than the movie that came before it, but it’s relatively rare to hear industry types talking relatively freely about how they can improve on specific areas of the film they’re following up.
Yet when we visited the set of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in late May, producers Avi Arad were fairly candid about last year’s series reboot, how they’ve listened to audience feedback, and how they plan to continue Peter Parker’s story in the forthcoming sequel. During our roundtable interview, the producers talked about the hazards of shooting in New York, what the addition of writers Kurtzman and Orci have brought to the script,...

Xan Cassavetes — daughter of famed moviemaking couple director John Cassavetes and actress Gena Rowlands — seems to have been inspired by the sexy and twisted vampire films from the 1970s for her new movie "Kiss of the Damned." The cool, contemporary take on bloodsucking fiends tells the story of one vamp falling in love with a human, but the relationship is threatened when the undead woman's wild sister shows up.
The entire vampire community also becomes endangered thanks to the troublemaker's pathological personality. The red band trailer that popped up on Yahoo! this week reveals a very retro, erotic vibe. Look for "Kiss of the Damned" on iTunes/On Demand March 28, or see it in theaters May 3. We vote you whet your appetite in the meantime by watching this Nsfw trailer.

There's nothing like nature, is there? A flock of birds picking at the leftover sausages rotting outside your motor home. The smell of salty air whipping off the ocean. The sound of Albie's award-winning song entitled "In the Tent," that goes a little something like this: "In the tent, in the tent, in the tent, next to the RVs we rent, we rent, we rent." None of the Manzos are particularly well-rested, but Jacqueline's quite perky thanks to whatever cocktail of uppers she's sprinkled in her coffee. Our heroic menfolk are keeping themselves occupied by forcing Lauren's large boyfriend Vito to take off his shorts and show them the bear tattoo inked on his ample behind. All in all, a typical morning for our adventurers.

After the inconvenience of working a job and the inability of transporting myself anymore, my intentions of catching The Vaccines was soon put to bed on arrival; having essentially missed their entire set. I still partially blame whoever’s bright idea it was to open doors at 6pm alongside having to earn a living.
This left me only getting to see the last two songs of the set, though The Vaccines being the stand up gentleman they are, had left two of their best songs until last for me; If You Wanna and Norgaard. Similarly to when I last/first saw them there was no stage show, just a four man guitar band leaving the songs speak for themselves, in a tight and energetic performance, lifting the songs above their already sound recorded counterparts.
Not too dissimilar from how our main event this evening started out, but the times they have changed.

Hilariously, when they get to Melissa - the audience barely makes a sound. Probably 'cause they're all afraid she'll stab them to death. One of the first things that comes up is Ames running after Jackie's limo.
They talk about how they are not together - apparently Ames just decided they weren't right for each other and Jackie spent the summer wondering what she did wrong. Aww. I can see how he maybe didn't handle the break-up super well, he's kind of socially awkward. Ames is trying not to cry when he talks about how much he wanted it to work. Aww.
Talk turns to the Vienna/Kasey power couple alliance thing and William hilariously points out they didn't win anything and they aren't sitting at the end.

The long running ABC soap opera All My Children is finally coming to an end in September, and to give itself a good send off, the show is looking to bring back ex-cast members for one last appearance. With it being a soap, it doesn’t matter whatsoever if any of those characters have been dead for several years. TV Guide reports that the latest star returning to the soap is CSI: Miami‘s Eva La Rue, who will be returning as Dr. Maria Santos Grey for a number of episodes. Maria first appeared on the show in 1993, and left in 1997 only to return in 2002. She left for good again in 2005 and only appeared during the show’s 40th anniversary.
Other returning actors and actresses include Josh Duhamel, Thorsten Kaye, and Cady McClain. Kaye and McClain both play characters that are deceased, which has me wonder how they will return.

Is the director's cut just one big self-indulgence, or the chance for an auteur to get his vision across to the public untrammelled by the money men?
First 18 minutes had to be cut for length. Then another eight minutes went at the insistence of the studio. Six months later, the director was allowed to reinstate a minute of original footage. That was followed, 19 years later, by another seven minutes, one minute of which was – on second thoughts – removed again a few years after that.
Since it premiered in 1971, The Last Picture Show, Peter Bogdanovich's nostalgic masterpiece about lust and loss in smalltown Texas, has been through three official edits and several unofficial ones. Bogdanovich now says the version to be released on 15 April finally represents his perfect vision. Almost. "Well, it's as close as it's going to get."

After a tremendous showing during this year's Miami Music Week, both as a solo artist and with his Scandinavian brethren in Swedish House Mafia, Axwell released his long-awaited solo track "Heart Is King" on Monday (April 4).
Axwell's fans — and MTV News — have had their eyes and ears peeled for this latest release since he first teased a crowd with it at the Montreux Sundance - Electronic Music Festival in Switzerland last May. The new track is classic big-room Axwell, garnished with spine-tingling strings and a driving, progressive riff.

"It's kind of a neo-classical type of thing," Axwell told MTV News when we caught up with him in Miami. "It's a little like filtered house, and it has this break,...

It used to be, if you were serious about starting a tech company, you went to Silicon Valley. But emerging entrepreneurial hubs around the country are giving startup aspirants options. In this series, we talk to leading figures in those communities about what makes them tick.
John Richards is not unusual as Salt Lake residents go. He spent several years outside of Utah building expertise in a particular field -- in this case, as a tech entrepreneur in Seattle -- and returned to the state when his alma mater, Brigham Young University, offered him a teaching position. Richards coined this the “Mormon Mecca Effect,” in which members of the Church of Latter Day Saints return to Salt Lake City to start businesses. Salt Lake also boasts a history of tech giants in Novell and WordPerfect, and a pair of successful startups in storage device maker Fusion Io and Web analytics...

Anderson talks about zombies, who was the biggest diva on the Afterlife set, and why The Final Destination blew.
Paul W.S. Anderson loves zombies. His association with the Resident Evil franchise as either a writer, director or producer or all three combined is evidence, even if it may not always appear that he loves zombies the way fans love them. He's got to love the money he's made from zombies and the Capcom games that the movies are based on. In some recently released interviews from this year's Comic-Con, Anderson talks about zombies, who was the biggest diva on the Afterlife set, and why The Final Destination blew.
Anderson told MoviesOnline that who the biggest diva was on the set of Afterlife:
I’m spoiled working with Ali [Larter] and Milla [Jovovich] because they’re just not divas at all. They turn up for work, they’re in a great mood, you...

"Don't Let Anyone Tell You What It Is."
That's the tagline on the poster for the new documentary "Catfish" from directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman. Maybe what they meant to say was "Don't Let Anyone But Us Tell You What It Is." Because when the "Catfish" trailer debuted on the web last week, all anyone could talk about was whether or not it gave too much of the film away. That said, any description of the film at all could be considered "giving the film away," since as soon as you start mentioning a twist people can't help but start guessing at what it is.
"Catfish" certainly isn't the first trailer to spark a debate on how much or how little information movie advertising should provide. Modern coming attractions routinely spoil comedies' best jokes and thrillers' big twists. The big question is, why? If the the thrill of discovery...

NBC still hasn't officially said anything about the resolution to its late-night situation, but the man who's in all likelihood headed back to "The Tonight Show" has decided to speak up.
On "The Jay Leno Show" Monday night (Jan. 18), Leno went beyond cracking jokes about the network's late-night mess -- though he did some of those too -- to give his assessment of the situation. He devoted much of the show's second segment to it. Here's what he said:
"Let's start in 2004 -- 2004 I'm sitting in my office, an NBC executive comes in and says to me, listen, Conan O'Brien has gotten offers from other networks. We don't want him to go, so we're going to give him 'The Tonight Show.' I said, 'Well, I've been number one for 12 years.' They said, 'We know that, but we don't think you can sustain that.' I said, 'Okay. How...

There were no jokes this time - just the facts, as Jay Leno sees them. In a detailed account of his side of the talk-show mess at NBC, Leno opened his lame-duck program Monday night seeking to set the record straight and try to repair relations with his - apparently temporary - Tonight Show successor. "Through all of this, Conan O’Brien has been a gentleman," Leno said during the taping. "He’s a good guy. I have no animosity towards him." For now, Leno said, it appeared that he would be returning as host of The Tonight Show at 11:35 p.

You know it's getting close to Halloween when Sam Raimi's Ghost House Underground label unleashes a whole new wave of indie acquisitions on the horror community. Not sure why, after last year's run of eight titles, the label decided to release only four this year, but when the offerings are this fun who really cares, right?
As usual with these types of multi-film releases, we've just not got the time to give each of he flicks full reviews before they street, so this four piece mega-review will have to do.
Tuck into the horrors of The Thaw, The Children, Offspring and Seventh Moon after the break!

Last week, Sam and Dean broke up the band, right? This week… the band's still broken up. And these guys seriously need to put on their Big Girl Panties and man up so they can stop the Apocalypse, damn it! I'm over the Angst — let's get these guys back together so they can kick ass and take names. But we're not quite there yet.
This week, Sam and his Ginormous Shoulders wake up shirtlessly (that's a word, shuddup) in a hotel room not quite alone. Jess (Adrianne Palicki) is hanging out on his bed, complete with White Nightgown of Doooom. With no mention of why the hell she was standing on that streetcorner at the end of 'Bloody Mary' (thanks, Kripke… jeeze), she proceeds to lay the guilt trip on Sam by telling him that whatever he's feeling is deep down inside of him and he can't change who he is.
