Quotes

  • Jack Bauer : I heard you were with Josh, I didn't want to disturb you

Marilyn Bauer : He is taking it pretty hard: he loved his father very much

Jack Bauer : I'm very sorry

Marilyn Bauer : You don't owe me an apology

Jack Bauer : They haven't told you the circumstances around Graem's heart attack?

Marilyn Bauer : They told me enough. Look, I know the kind of man Graem was, even if he died from your interrogation, I don't blame you, I blame him. The truth is, I've tried to leave Graem for years but he threatened to take Josh away from me. He said I'd never see him again

Jack Bauer : Did Josh know what he was like?

Marilyn Bauer : No, I was trying to protect him from the truth of his father

Jack Bauer : What've you told him about his father's death?

Marilyn Bauer : Only that he had a heart attack: that's it for now

Jack Bauer : Yeah, I'm sorry, I have to go back to work

Marilyn Bauer : Is it true there are more bombs out there?

    Jack Bauer : Yes

Marilyn Bauer : Are you any closer to finding them?

Jack Bauer : No, we've hit a "road block." Right now we're looking for a Russian operative we believe is helping the terrorists. Graem knew him

    Marilyn Bauer : Russian?

Jack Bauer : A man named Gredenko. You know him?

    Marilyn Bauer : No

Jack Bauer : But you know "something"?

Marilyn Bauer : Maybe, it was probably nothing. It was months ago

Jack Bauer : Anything you tell us might help

Marilyn Bauer : Graem was going out a lot at night and he said it was "work related", I didn't believe him. I thought he was having an affair so one night I followed him: it wasn't out of jealousy, it was for leverage, anything I could against him to get custody of Josh if I left him

Jack Bauer : Where did he go?

Marilyn Bauer : It was to a house in West LA. I went to the window and the blinds were drawn, but I could hear inside talking to some men, they had Russian ascents

Jack Bauer : What were they saying?

Marilyn Bauer : I couldn't hear them clear enough and frankly once I realized he wasn't cheating on me, I got in the car and went home

Jack Bauer : Do you remember the address of the house?

Marilyn Bauer : No, I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention. I was more concerned about getting caught

Jack Bauer : It is vital we find this man Gredenko. If we retrace the route you took that night, do you think you could recognize the house?

    Marilyn Bauer : Maybe

    Jack Bauer : Maybe?

Marilyn Bauer : [after thinking it over]  yeah I think so

  • Phillip Bauer : Hey

    Marilyn Bauer : Hey

Phillip Bauer : How you doing?

Marilyn Bauer : I'm hanging in there

Phillip Bauer : What's going on with you and Jack?

Marilyn Bauer : His looking for someone: he thinks I could help

Phillip Bauer : You mean Gredenko? He questioned me about the same thing earlier. What'd you know about him?

Marilyn Bauer : Nothing really. I followed Graem to a house one night. He met with some Russians

    Phillip Bauer : What house?

Marilyn Bauer : I don't know, it was in West L.A. Jack wants to take me over there to see if he can jog my memory. I don't know how long this is going to take and I can't leave Josh alone. Could you please stay with him?

    Phillip Bauer : Yeah, sure

  • Marilyn Bauer : [after seeing the scars on his right hand]  I can't imagine what you went through in China. When you were over there, I thought a lot about you. I "tried" not to. I guess I "tried" not to think about you for over twenty years

Jack Bauer : We don't need to talk about this

Marilyn Bauer : It was your father wasn't it? He drove you away: tried to pressure you to work for his company. Is that why you left? Enlisted in the military?

Jack Bauer : There were a lot of reasons

Marilyn Bauer : Was I one of them?

    Jack Bauer : No

  • Phillip Bauer : [Over the phone]  it's me, don't say anything: just listen. I don't want Jack to know I'm on the line, you understand?

    Marilyn Bauer : Ok

Phillip Bauer : Your involved is something that's much bigger than you could possibly imagine. So here's the deal: unless you do "exactly" what I say I will hurt Josh. If you don't believe that, you might want to consider this, Graem's death was not an accident, I killed him. I want you to say "Thank you Susan"

Marilyn Bauer : "Thank you Susan"

Phillip Bauer : Now you're not going to take Jack to the house where Graem met the Russians, your taking him to a different address, 9407 Hindry Place, you got it?

    Marilyn Bauer : Yeah

Phillip Bauer : Good. You do this for me, I promise you, you will see Josh again, if you don't, he dies

    Marilyn Bauer : Ok

Phillip Bauer : [Sternly repeating the address]  9407 Hindry Place: do the right thing, I already lost a son today. Don't make me lose a grandson

Marilyn Bauer : [Before hanging up the phone]  good bye "Susan"
