Exclusive: British comedy legend Jennifer Saunders will make her pantomime debut as Captain Hook in Peter Pan this winter holiday season at the world famous London Palladium.
The top-of-the-bill casting coup was the brainchild of Michael Harrison, of Michael Harrison Entertainment and Crossroads Pantomimes. He’s the UK’s pantomime supremo with 24 panto productions set to open across the country in December.
“I thought: ‘Hello! Captain Hook is often played by a man and I thought why not do a gender change? It’s what pantomime is all about, isn’t it?” Harrison told us.
The comic performance artist and writer Rob Madge) will play Tinker Bell.
Peter Pan will run at the Palladium from December 9-January 14.

For the fourth consecutive weekend, “Frozen 2” remained as the box office champion in South Korea. The Walt Disney release earned $6.55 million from 896,000 admissions between Friday and Sunday and accounted for 42% of the total weekend box office.
It has now earned a total of $85.9 million from 12.1 million admissions after four weekends on release. The animated feature is currently the fourth biggest release of the year in the country, behind “Extreme Job” and two other Disney releases: “Avengers: Endgame” and “Aladdin.”
Opening on Wednesday, “Jumanji: The Next Level” landed in second. The Sony release earned $5.77 million from 803,000 admissions over five days, including $4.42 million over the weekend. The fantasy adventure film accounted for 28% of the country’s total weekend grosses.

UK animation outfit strikes two-picture deal.
London-based production and sales outfit Gfm Animation has unveiled two new projects on the eve of Toronto.
A Greyhound Of A Girl is based on the novel by Booker Prize-winning author Roddy Doyle. It will be directed by Italian director Enzo D’Alo (Pinocchio) and is produced by Paul Thiltges Distributions, in association with the Luxembourg Film Fund, Aliante and The Illuminated Film Company. The ghost story follows four generations of women travelling on a midnight car journey.
Production on this animated feature film will commence in Q2 2019 after eight months of storyboarding and character designs.

Kaleidoscope Film Distribution (Kfd) has boarded Illuminated Films’ new animated feature, Little Princess & The Legend of Blue Foot.
Kfd will represent the film globally and will release it in the UK market.
The feature, aimed primarily at the 3-7 year-old demographic, is being launched to buyers at Mipcom.
Little Princess & The Legend Of Blue Foot is the feature film spin off from the successful TV series, whose three series have been broadcast globally. Tie-in books have sold an estimated 3.5 million copies.
The series is made through London-based Illuminated Film Company, the animation outfit set up by Iain Harvey in 1993.
The film is currently in pre-production. Voice cast from the TV series, which includes Jane Horrocks as the Little Princess and Colin McFarlane in several roles, are expected to be involved in the movie.

In doing so the insolvency court has put the company under preliminary administration with an attorney appointed as the administrator. In a statement TV-Loonland, which has been in financial straits for the last year or more, points to its shareholders as the reason for the filing, "Due to the fact that the company's shareholders repeatedly refused approval of share consolidation on November 19, 2008 and November 26, 2009, TV-Loonland was not able to raise cash through an equity injection. Therefore the company cannot clear all debts on the respective due dates." Additionally, TV-Loonland announced the appointment of Michael Briem as its new CEO.
