Hour one.
Live from Phoenix, AZ
Your hosts are Tony Schiavone & Larry Zbyszko
Lord Steven Regal Vs Juventud Guerrera
Regal wins with the Regal Stretch. This match was dominated by Sting and Syxx's appearances in the crowd. The match wasn't really the focus at all.
*
Diamond Dallas Paige Vs Mike Enos
DDP wins with the Diamond Cutter. This was decent for a glorified squash match. The main focus was The Outsiders appearing in the crowd.
*1/2
Dean Malenko Vs Jim Powers (W/Teddy Long)
Malenko wins with a roll-up. This isn't one of Malenko's best matches, that's for sure. Teddy Long arguing with Nick Patrick was the main focus. That seems to be the theme for this episode, outside issues.
*1/4
Jeff Jarrett Vs Ricky Morton
Jarrett wins with the Figure Four. The Giant gets on the microphone after the match. He says The Four Horsemen didn't pass the torch to Jarrett, they passed him a wet match. He calls the Horsemen pathetic, and they band together like a pack of rats. He's gonna get revenge on The Horsemen sooner than later. Jarrett offers to fight The Giant in the ring, but The Giant walks away. Jarrett cuts a solid promo about how WCW's gotta unite.
** Hour two.
Your hosts are Eric Bischoff, Bobby Heenan & Mike Tenay.
The Amazing French Canadians (Jacques Rougeau & Carl Ouellet) Vs
The Nasty Boys interrupt the match and attack High Voltage. The French Canadians flee the scene. The Nasty Boys claim they don't need to belong to anybody. They were nasty before the nWo or WCW was cool. They were born nasty. They issue a challenge to the nWo.
*
Rey Mysterio Jr. Vs Jimmy Graffitti
Mysterio wins with a huricarana. This match was sadly way too short. It needed some more time because if these two got 10 to 15 minutes, they could work wonders.
*1/2
Eddie Guererro Vs Chris Beniot (W/Woman)
Beniot wins after McMichael interferes. They weren't at their best here because both were selling major injuries. I can't believe I'm saying this, but this is actually a mediocre match. That's unheard of when it comes to two major talent like that.
*3/4
Nick Patrick's attorney comes out and says all the controversy stems from Chris Jericho brutally assaulting Nick Patrick at Halloween Havoc. Jericho comes out and says there is nothing wrong with Patrick's neck, and that he's a member of the nWo. Teddy Long comes out and defends Chris Jericho.
Lex Luger Vs Booker T. (W/Sister Sherri)
Booker T wins by countout after Luger spots Sting in the crowd, and decides to go after him. This was an average match that Luger dominated for the most part. Sting's character development is certainly intriguing.
**
We get a recap of Roddy Piper's confrontation with Hulk Hogan at Halloween Havoc.
Hollywood Hogan comes out. He asks for the spotlight on him and he gets it. Hogan says the nWo is the superior body of wrestling, and they've won the war with WCW. Hogan taunts Randy Savage, and says he failed to get the job done when all the pressure was on him. Hogan says Piper has always idolized Hulk Hogan and admired his accomplishments. Hogan poses to end the show.
Thoughts: This was a basic heel promo from Hogan. He really did nothing out of the ordinary that we haven't seen before from him as a heel.
This was a pretty uneventful episode. In my opinion, it's average.
5/10 overall.
