Confused Kidnapping
wes-connors10 February 2015
In a kidnapping confusion, Raji (Sajid Kahn) is abducted by thugs who think he's another young man. They eventually demand half a million rupees for the safe return of Rakesh Pande (as Amin Khan), the cowardly son of aristocrat Manmohan Krishna (as Habib Khan). Terry (Jay North) correctly fears the kidnappers will kill Raji if they learn he's not Amin. Making the situation worse, Maya the elephant goes on a hunger strike. Terry must find the intended victim, who may be in on the crime, and set things right...

Although Amin and Raji have similar coloring, they do not look alike. So, to make the "switcheroo" believable, the young men have to change clothing. This amusing plot point has Amin giving Raji 50 rupees to go inside a tent with him to strip (off screen). Since 50 rupees may not be enough to persuade a strange young man to undress, Amin tells Raji he's doing this as part of a "scavenger hunt." The item being hunted isn't exactly clear, but that may be just as well. The tomfoolery ends with the lads in proper dress.

**** The Ransom of Raji (1/27/68) Allen Baron ~ Jay North, Sajid Khan, Rakesh Pande, Manmohan Krishna
