What a genuine and quirky short film
slimmctandy3 October 2010
Double Ding-Dongs played at festival I attended.

This film is very quirky and genuine. This film has a unique narrative style that implies firm artistic choices by the director, Molly Worre.

The writers gave very apparent consideration to the individuality of each and every character in this film, no matter how small.

The dialogue is most enjoyable. There is not a single character in this film that is a "talking head"; every single character has something witty to say.

The plot turns in this story are original and surprise you when you see them; they are sure to please. If you can find this short film, watch it!

Well...

Warning: Spoilers
It's not to say that there is no story here... it's just not that interesting or believable.

I get it. It's a short film, certain things will never be explained and we have to give a little bit more slack to a story when it's only 5 minutes long, but still the story should make sense.

What is the deal with the balloon? What is the significance of the note inside?

The acting was really good. I have to imagine it's hard to act when the story doesn't make that much sense, so I give a lot of credit to the folks who had to act this out. I just don't get what's going on here.

This felt like something I would see on IFC and then scratch my head about what I'd watched for the next two days... not my taste.
