Cyril has just finished fitting new plugs on Dorothy's electrical items so they will work on the Spanish currents, however they do not work properly. Checking the fuse box, Cyril is horrified to discover the wiring is like spaghetti junction. Trying to correct the wiring, Cyril blows all the fuses in the flat and is later apprehended by the police who are under the impression he is a terrorist!
'The Fuse' is not as good as the first two episodes but was better than the third and fourth editions. Cyril cack handiness with electrical work provides quite a bit of humour and put me in mind of a story told by my grandmother about how my grandfather ( may he rest in peace ) attempted to install an extractor fan in their bathroom. The end result was this - the extractor fan worked but the bathroom light would not switch off! I dread to think what he did for that to happen. Even the electrician my grandmother paid to put the electrics right was baffled as to how he managed it!
Funniest bit - Carlos 'repairing' the wiring in the Blakes flat. After he is finished, he tests the light switch and is horrified, as indeed are Cyril and Dorothy, when their gramophone mysteriously springs into life instead of the light!
