The entire story takes place in the police station in the pure Ed McBain's atmosphere, the usual police procedural stuff, depicting the human tragedy, emphasized by the Christmas eve. The Internal Affairs matter pushing police officers to commit suicide. Not a optimist tale but in the same time made for family audiences.
