Victoria Woodhall's life and Presidential Run
cwmorris74-19 March 2007
Here is the amazing story of one of the most interesting woman ever! A true free spirit who was way ahead of her time, and not afraid to speak out. From the business of Wall Street to politics and running for US President in 1872, she was met with much support, and lots of censorship and opposition, this in a time when women could not even vote.

The voice of Kate Capshaw as Victoria Woodhall was a perfect choice, and the interview with Gloria Steinem brings this story to life for today.

The directors cut includes an interview with an elderly gentlemen that was an actual neighbor of Victoria Woodhall.

With all the political headlines today about a woman candidate for president, Victoria Woodhall should become a household name. This film is a must see for all women, and all the men who appreciate the women who risk everything to change the rules!

Whul Talks about Victoria Woodhull tonight:: ASSUME THE POSITION 201
info-135587 July 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Tonight's episode, Wuhl talks about Victoria Woodhull and her running with black reformer Frederick Douglass. The truth is Woodhull nominated Douglass without his consent. He was actually in Paris at the time she nominated him.

There is an excellent documentary on Victoria Woodhull; America's Victoria, Remembering Victoria Woodhull. It's aired on PBS and was just recently released via DVD on Amazon.

Review If you spliced the genes of Hillary Clinton, Madonna, Heidi Fleiss and Margaret Thatcher, you might have someone like Victoria Woodhull." - --Steve Murray, Atlanta Journal & Constitution

Product Description Previously featured on PBS Television and Canadian Broadcasts. VICTORIA WOODHULL became the first woman to campaign for US President in 1872. AMERICA'S VICTORIA is a wonderful chronicle of the life of one of the most important and unrecognized women in US history. Although she was a radical suffragist, she refused to restrict her Presidential campaign to the issue of women's suffrage. Instead, she advocated a single sexual standard for men and women, legalization of prostitution and reform of marriage. AMERICA'S VICTORIA combines rare archival images, Woodhull's own words (ready by KATE CAPSHAW), and illuminating interviews with contemporary feminist, GLORIA STEINEM to present a fascinating portrait of this remarkably brave woman.

I saw her speak and she is brilliant

Victoria Weston of Atlanta Georgia is the reincarnated Victoria Woodhall.

I saw her speak and she is brilliant.

Excellent story and so timely with Hillary Clinton making the 2016 run for the white house.

This film deserves attention

Victoria was the lover of major characters of the age, and yet she had all the gifts of an independent lady. Her story is incredible, along the lines of "truth is stranger than fiction." This is a well done work, and hopefully it will receive the attention it deserves as Hillary makes her run for the white house. I suspect Victoria Weston is a major supporter of Hillary, as well she should be.
