Empathetic Episode for Toby
thomastheartist15 January 2024
If there's another engine who can pull the express while Gordon the Big Engine can't, it's James the Red Engine. James looks splendid flying along the line with the express as does Gordon. James boasts to Toby that he's "an imporant engine, regular as clockwork, never late and always on time". Toby says "says you", yeah tell him Toby. Poor Toby has to go to the works for repairs due to worn out parts. Percy's kind to take care of Henrietta for Toby until he returns from the works. Interesting fact about Toby is that he doesn't have a boiler like the other steam engines. Instead, he has a small box tube as his water tank. Poor Toby, having to constantly drink water due to feeling constantly thristy. What's worse is that Toby is stranded on the express line and James is on the line pulling the express. I personally think that James is being silly for grumbling to help Toby to the works station but he still helped. I wouldn't take James personally in this episode, especially if I were Toby. James was slightly rude to Toby by bumping him and saying "get on you". However, James still helped Toby to the works station and felt tired after that. Some children were on the platform teasing James about supposedly not being able to pull the express on his own and Toby helping him. Toby kindly assures that they're only teasing but James just scoffs. Toby simply smiled and I'd probably do the same.
