Would you believe that it has been over 20 years since Night of the Comet director/scribe Thom Eberhardt penned a movie? Well, he’s back, writing upcoming horror movie Menace, which is slated to make an appearance at this year’s Cannes Market.
Menace comes from Image Nation and Spooky Pictures, the studio behind Late Night with the Devil, a film that has been widely praised by critics and audiences (despite some controversies). Both companies were also behind 2022’s Watcher, another highly regarded work in the genre.
As per Deadline, Menace stars Isabel May “as a research student who has a psychotic breakdown and is remanded to the custody of her aunt and uncle in a small town. When strange things start happening around her and people start disappearing, she isn’t sure what is real or what is her imagination.”
That’s not a whole lot to go on...

One thing everyone can agree on when it comes to the prequel trilogy is that George Lucas put his heart into those films, which can’t be said for the recent Star Wars flicks from Disney. But before departing from the iconic IP, Lucas also had plans on how the sequel trilogy would pan out, and while Disney did agree to respect his original wishes, unfortunately, it wasn’t the case.
Furthermore, following the failure of The Rise of the Skywalker, Lucasfilm strayed away from big-screen releases and shifted its focus to the small screen. But had Lucas’ original plans been incorporated, the sequel trilogy would’ve shattered stereotypes by introducing a new Darth Vader.

Disney promised a new “Star Wars” movie every year after it acquired Lucasfilm, but the big-screen saga seemed to hit a pause with “Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.” But while many would call themselves “Star Wars” fans, even they will admit that the movies in the saga are by no means created equal.
In reverse order, here is a rundown of the best and worst that these films have to offer.
11. “Episode I: The Phantom Menace”
We waited 16 years for George Lucas to return to this universe, and what did we get? Trade routes and political intrigue, blood tests for the Force, and perhaps worst of all, Jar Jar Binks. “Menace” isn’t terrible because it’s a kid’s movie; it’s terrible because it’s a terrible kids movie.
Highlight: The light-saber battle between Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) and Darth Maul (Ray Park) – they’re the two...

(Cbr) In Chris Evans, Marvel Studios found the perfect Captain America for its shared cinematic universe; that perfect combination of all-American good looks, restrained heroism, strength and dignity. For eight decades, Cap has stood as a shining example of what is best about America, inspiring fans through his heroic exploits. From his Nazi-smashing days of the 1940s to his espionage-laden thrillers of the modern era, comic book readers have long known what's so special about the star-spangled Avenger but aside from a few unsuccessful attempts, it wasn't until 2012 that Cap made it to the big screen in all his red, white and blue glory. But, what if...? Had Cap become a big screen sensation in the past, he could have blazed a trail of glory over the battle fields of World War II in the '40s, fought the Red Menace of the '50s, been a man out of...

It's been a while since the last proper news roundup, so some of the news today won't be all that new. Posting it anyway in case anyone missed it elsewhere.
Fairly Legal is back tonight at 9 pm on USA. Esai Morales guest stars in the season premiere and will be appearing in several more episodes. Other BSG and Caprica folks appearing on the show this season include Michael Hogan, Ben Cotton and Zak Santiago. And yeah, Michael Trucco is still a regular.
The Voice of TV has some recent Bts pics, and Buddy TV talked to Esai (more at the link):
What do we need to know about Esai Morales' character?
Esai Morales: I'm playing Aaron Davidson, thank you. No hablo espanol in this show... I am a politician, District Attorney. I am, I guess, a bit of a quintessential slimeball. Sleazebag is how I've been described,...
