Italian horror auteur Dario Argento has picked Marco Werba, a Spanish composer whose previous genre credits include "Darkness Surrounds Roberta" and "Fearmakers", to score his new film, "Giallo" (a title which refers to the Italian genre which Argento popularized). The film stars Adrien Brody and Emmanuelle Seigner and is a thriller about the abduction of a woman by a maniacal serial killer known as Yellow. Marco Werba will record the score, beginning on Friday, November 7, with members of the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra. The wait is over, horror fans! The composer for Dario Argento’s next movie, Giallo, has finally been announced! You can rest easy tonight knowing that yes, Argento’s next film will have a score!
Sorry, got a bit carried away. Anyway, said composer’s name is Marco Werba, whose previous works include the indie films Darkness Surrounds Roberta and Timo Rose’s Fearmakers and Beast. Wow, from working with Timo Rose to working with Dario Argento? Not a bad move at all!
Giallo is the story of an American detective (Adrien Brody) who teams with an American stewardess (Emmanuelle Seigner) to find the girl’s sister, who’s been abducted by a serial killer known only as “Yellow”. And as long as Argento avoids using midgets or monkeys in this one, it might be worth watching!

Upcoming Film Scores reports that Spanish composer Marco Werba (pictured) has been tapped to score Dario Argento’s Giallo. Werba begins recording the music for the Italian maestro’s latest this Friday with members of the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra.
Giallo, scripted by Jim Agnew and Sean Keller, is Argento’s own homage to the murderous subgenre he helped create in the ’70s, and follows an Italian detective (Adrien Brody) as he helps an American stewardess rescue the latter’s sister, who has been kidnapped by a serial killer called “Yellow.” Emmanuelle (The Ninth Gate) Seigner, Elsa (Snakes On A Plane) Pataky and Robert Miano also star. Werba has experience on the giallo side of the genre, having provided the score for Giovanni Pianigiani’s recent Darkness Surrounds Roberta; he also did the music for Timo Rose’s Fearmakers and upcoming werewolfilm Beast. The film stars Adrien Brody and Emmanuelle Seigner and is a thriller about the abduction of a woman by a maniacal serial killer known as Yellow. Marco Werba will record the score, beginning on Friday, November 7, with members of the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra.
