Scream queen DeeDee Bigelow - whose credits include Machete Betty, Violent Blue and upcoming movies Legend of the Red Reaper, Spreading Darkness, The Road Killer and Scarlet Samurai: Incarnation - has netted a new role and a change of genre.
DeeDee will appear in Animal Planet's adventure show Hillbilly Handfishin' on August 30.
On the show, she will compete with several others in the sport of noodling, which is catching catfish using only the bare hands and feet.
Bigelow will appear in Season 2 of the show, in the episode Luck of the Irish.
This episode features three pairs of people, from different walks of life, who take a shot at fishing in the Red River of Oklahoma. Bigelow is no stranger to physical roles, but the catfish in this river bite back.
Two early stills have been released from this episode. The first shows Bigelow behind the scenes in makeup.

Legend of the Red Reaper’s Tara Cardinal teamed up with David Williams and producer/ martial artist extraordinaire Sean Wyn to create Scarlet Samurai: Incarnation.
Judging from the trailer, it’s part-co-ed adventure, part- horror fantasy, and part-martial arts action flick. The movie stars Alicen Holden (Dukes of Hazzard), Christian Boeving (Battledome, Zombie Massacre), Maria Olsen (Paranormal Activity 3, Percy Jackson), Horror Cult Icon DeeDee Bigelow (Alien Armageddon, Show Girls 2), Justin Irwin, Patricia Dunn, Catherine Scrivo and Tara Cardinal (Wrath of the Crows, Zombie Massacre) as the Scarlet Samurai.
Synopsis and trailer below:
Five reckless college kids on an urban archaeological expedition uncover a preternatural evil, and discover only a legend can fight a myth..
Almost a century ago, the Buffalo Central Terminal was cursed. Eighty years (and 922 missing persons) later, we find Ikari trying to follow in her (missing) father's archaeological footsteps. But Ikari--a part Chinese, part Japanese, half Jewish lesbian--has problems.

When last seen around these parts, fiery haired actress Tara Cardinal was doing her superhero thang alongside Lou Ferrigno in Liberator. But now she's going back in time for a whole different brand of heroics in The Legend of the Red Reaper...and guess what — she's bringing Uwe Boll along for the ride!
Written and directed by Kristen Barron Stewart, Red Reaper is an action-packed tale filled with witches, demons, war and romance — in other words, everything that makes the world of fantasy go round.
Cardinal stars as the titular Reaper, a warrior born of a witch and destined to save mankind from the return of the exiled demon horde. (No, not the Tea Party. That battle has already been fought and won.) Also appearing are David Mackey, Eliza Swenson, Christian Boeving, Shayne Leighton and Troma founder, eminent bon vivant and madman Lloyd Kaufman.
Red Reaper has been Cardinal's passion project for years.

Director Kristen Stewart (I know what you’re thinking, but no, not that Kristen Stewart) has released a statement about her film, “The Legend of the Red Reaper.” The film, backed by Uwe Boll, is finally making its way to audiences, and below you can see the official trailer and poster from the film. Here’s Stewart’s statement on the film: “Ladies and Gents – this is the movie I’ve been telling you about for over a year now. Legend of the Red Reaper, my pet project, abandoned by the producers after a significant amount of production money was lifted from the budget, was nursed back to health by myself, Tara Cardinal, [ Read More ]

Legend of the Red Reaper had new life breathed into it after the producers jumped ship along with a large amount of the production budget.
The film, written and directed by Kristen Stewart (no relation to the Twilight actress), had a bumpy ride. It was rewritten, recast and the crew was shaken up. According to the most recent press release, “Houses were foreclosed, some body parts donated to science - but the money was raised to tell a story that I believe in with my heart soul (and some long lost body parts).”
Eventually Uwe Boll came on board as producer.
“Editor after editor jumped ship, holding up the project even further. Finally, Uwe Boll came to the rescue. The project was brought to his attention by lead actress Tara Cardinal, who also appears in two of his other projects, (Zombie Massacre and the Profane Exhibit with Clint Howard). Uwe,...

Whether you love him or hate him, Uwe Boll is back with his latest indie film, “Legend of the Red Reaper.” The film, based on the comic series that shares its name, was directed by Kristen Stewart (not the “Twilight” Kristen Stewart) and stars Tara Cardinal, David Mackey, Ray Eddy and Eliza Swenson. The screenplay was also written by Stewart; other writing credits go to Basha Barron, Arielle Jayme, Tessie Jayme, Kim Pritekel and Ricky Roxburgh. Boll acted as the film’s executive producer. Like I said, the “Twilight” Stewart isn’t behind this film, but the subject matter doesn’t seem to far outside her wheelhouse of sci-fi/horror/action. The film follows a [ Read More ]

Bill Oberst Jr. is the definition of “the horror actor”, the working actor doesn’t prefer anything outside of the horror genre and wouldn’t have it any other way. Oberst has some cool projects in the works including Vivid and Legend of the Red Reaper, he shares some stories about working on True Blood and MTV’s upcoming horror series Death Valley. The actor keeps busy for sure! Check out my latest Versus with Bill Oberst Jr. to learn more about this hard working cool actor.
Brian S- First off you've really been cranking out film projects since 2007. How'd you get into acting?
Bill Oberst Jr.- I was a bizarre-looking kid who loved monsters and the other kids made fun of me. I learned a useful equation: "If You Entertain People, They Will Not Hit You." So my whole career has pretty much been about trying to get people not to hit me.

Tara Cardinal is a go-to-girl when it comes to indie horror and the underground film scene. She acts, writes, produces and she's even directed some. The girl can do it all and at such a young age she's already made a name for herself. She also models for cool outfits like Comic Book Divas and even throws people around in the wrestling ring, all I can say is I want to be pinned in the squared circle by Ms. Cardinal! Check out my latest "Versus" where we cover all of the above plus more!

We've posted the new Red Band teaser Trailer for the upcoming psycho-horror film Song of the Shattered and today we have the first images from the film and some are a little graphic, there's your warning!
From the Press Release:
Joe Hollow Films (the upcoming Diary of Death), Zeroinside Films, and Wolfpak Industry Productions are pleased to announce the first Teaser Trailer and images from their upcoming film "Song Of The Shattered".
"A year after killing her murderous husband in self-defense, a young woman finds herself spiraling out of control, mimicking his brutal actions on those closest to her..."
The film tackles a multitude of socially-relevant issues, including domestic violence, sexual abuse, rape, and other potentially controversial topics and places them all under the guise of what is being dubbed a "psychothriller". Much of the film is inspired by true events that an anonymous member of the production team witnessed as a child.
